Starting a league with an initial draft using a user made roster

I downloaded CubbyFan's roster, and I'm trying to start a new league with an initial draft. How the heck do you go about doing this?

Once you've installed the league and loaded it in OOTP, you should be able to go into the Setup screen, and under the Other Functions button at the bottom right is an option to "Release All Players and Schedule Inaugural Draft".

It's blocked out. Is there only a certain date or time period where you're able to do this?

Yes, the very beginning of the year (in January, typically). I don't know much about Cubby's roster set, so I don't know what date it starts at. The OOTP2006 league that I'm in is using Rolen's set, and I know he released two versions of the file: one dated 1-2-2006, so that you can do inaugural drafts, and one dated on Opening Day, so that you can play with actual 2006 MLB rosters.

If that option is greyed out in your game, I'd check to see if there's similarly different version of the set designed to allow you to do what you want.

Two things.

1) I was actually using Rolen's roster, I had both downloaded and both loaded, just wasn't sure what league I was in at the time.

2) The roster I was using had the start date as opening day, it has to be the January version. But, I got it all worked out and everything is going fine now. I can finally play this game like I've wanted to.
