Online league file size

Is there a way to run an online league but have leaguefiles that are smaller than 5 - 10 mb? I commish a FOF2k league and the leaguefile is rarely > 1mb which is easier to players. There's also only 2 - 4 files and some boxscores.

The amoutn of files to download is a lot in OOTP. Also, is there a guide as to what files go in what folder (noob question).
