Lions Fans (or those in denial)
How has Kitna looked thus far? I'm in a "start 'em once" league, where you pick a player once every week, and I'm debating Kitna at home vs. the Packers. I've noticed he's thrown for 200+ yards against two VERY good defenses, and has yet to throw a pick. Is it safe to say 200+ yards and two touchdowns against the Packers is likely? Or will we see a heavy dose of Kevin Jones?

I'm not a Lions fan, I'm a Packers fan. The Packers pass defense has the ability to make any opposing QB look like the second coming of Johnny Unitas. So, Kitna should be good to go.

On the other hand, the Packers run defense has looked good so far (e.g., Reggie Bush gained only 5 yards on 6 carries last week).

The Packers Defensive line is not bad, but the offensive line and defensive backfield are the areas that will probably kill the Pack in this matchup. Look for the lions to start with a lot of passes to get the defense to spread a bit then go to the run when they get the lead. Probably by the 3rd quarter. I figure Kitna to throw for about 220 yards+ and Jones to run for a minimum of 80 yards. They won't really tear up the stats because the will get an early lead and play pretty conservative by the 3rd quarter.
Packers lack of offensive punch will give the Lions a lot of chances to score early because of the offensive line problems. Brett will be running for his life most of the day trying to make "something happen". Don't count on much from the Pack. The Lions just need to spread the Paks defense early with a passing game and they will coast in this game. Prediction: Kitna, 18-30, 224 yds, 2 touch downs KJ, 22 carries, 93 yds. a loss to the PACKERS?
Well, the good news is that the team is ONLY a touchdown from getting William's "almost 40 points" (although I think he said it would be in a game, not four of them) |
