Overall and Potential in Transaction Screen

I have my ratings on a 1-10 scale, but on the Transaction Page my players show ratings for what appear to be a 1-100 range. Those are the only two ratings that are like that. Con/Stuff, Pow/Mov, and Eye/Con all are in the 1-10 range. On the roster page, everything looks normal.

Should it be this way (Im thinking not)?

overall and potential are always on a 20-80 scale no matter what you have it set at.

Any reason why it can't either change with the scale being used, or why it isn't defaulted to something easier to understand like 1-100?

At least for us simpletons out there

I would imagine it's defaulted to 20-80 because that's the real scouting scale (although as someone else pointed out in another thread, it's really only a 13 point scale rather than 61). I didn't even realize you couldn't change it until this thread since I always use 20-80.

While I agree it should be customizable, if it helps at all: 50 is average so you can work from there, plus the color coding is the same as any other scale.

Each little player box now allows you to display ratings, along with the overall rating and overall potential rating of the scout you have currently selected (upper right corner).

This is supported in the team transaction screen and the trade screen. With the overall ratings visible there, you won't need any stars

I will make the overall ratings soon visible in the big player lists as well, but this takes some more coding time because that list is sortable and filters can be applied. So this is something for a second patch or a later update.

These were all posted on 6/1/06, obviously the adjustment didn't make it into patch 2.

If it was just a quick way to get the ratings onto the page, then fine, but thats got to be fixed. It kind of makes using a lower scale a moot point. Sure two guys could be a 5 in a 1-10 scale, but one look at the transaction screen tells me way too much information (as far as Im concerned) as far as who the better player is (or will be). I dont mind the rating there, but it should scale with the rest of the ratings. If one guy is a 5 with a 65 potential and the other is a 5 with a 56 potential, guess which one Im taking 100% of the time.....

For pitchers, does this go by position, or what? For instance, if I have a MR that is a 60, a SP that is a 60, and a CL that is a 60, are they all equal, or is the MR elite, CL good, and SP above average?

See what I mean?

Hopefully this gets changed in an upcoming patch. I'm still holding out hope that they do one more decent patch for the game, before I give up completely. No matter how frustrating the game still is, I still get glimpses of how fun it can be if it was "polished". The new features, depth of stats, and interface are so good, if only they were complete and all worked right.
