Unified Baseball needs a handful
Plus 1...Unified Baseball League was originally a Cooley run league based on the premise of combining Major League, Negro League, and Pacific Coast League players in 1927. We are now up to 1943 and I've been running the sims since 1934. We no longer create Pacific Coast League players due to virtually everyone at this point joining the major leagues at some point in their career. Also with the signing of Jackie Robinson on the horizon we no longer create our own players that were a part of the Negro Leagues. Ankit's DB with slight modifications is now what is used.
The league is run with OOTP6.5 for 1 more season with a final vote imminent regarding upgrading or not. We begin Free agency for 1943 in just 2 days with the draft starting before that. The available teams are: Boston Red Sox Washington Senators Chicago American Giants St. Louis Stars Brooklyn Royal Giants Homestead Grays We're a pretty mellow bunch, there isn't a ton of trading or news posted with Coranto, but there is a competitive spirit with teams exporting virtually every sim. Please email me at putt@zanyaidan.com or PM me here if you have any questions or interest. Thanks! Mike/Putt UBL |

Thought I'd give this a bump. Several teams available(some good, some not so good), we are just moving into the playoffs and then the offseason starts. A great time to climb aboard. Take a peek at the website for a list of available teams, and then e-mail Mike with the team of your choice.

I'd sure like to see this grand old league get back to full strength again.
I've taken up the reins of the Brooklyn Royal Giants again, in spite of the fact that I just have no time. I'm hoping some of you will consider joining me and giving the UBL a little transfusion of new blood. If anybody loves the players of the '40s -- or would like to become more familiar with them -- there are several good openings to choose from. So why not check it out? Some great big-league, PCL and Negro League players need some guidance.

The thankfully last bump for this season. We are just 2 sims in and the 6 available teams are the Washington Senators, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Stars, Cincinnati Redlegs, Homestead Grays, and Los Angeles Angels.

The commish is done bumping, but I felt the need. Still same 6 teams available. Washington and LA are both leading their divisions, the other 4 teams are down in the standings and are positioning for some nice picks in the next draft. This is a really well run league, I'm surprised with as crappy as OOTP2006 turned out to be for Historical Leagues that we can't get this baby filled back up. E-mail the commish!

To further plug and help you scout these teams, here is what is available:
LA- Leading Division. Has Stud Pitcher Harry Cunningham and slugger Johnny Mize along with 22 year old Catcher Roy Campenella Washington- Also leading division. Catfish Metkovich is on this squad along with Negro League Stud Don Wilson who is currently hitting at a .407 clip and has 51 SB's St. Louis- TED WILLIAMS at 25 years old. What else could you possibly need to build around? Homestead- Has one of the best pitchers in the league in Bertrum Hunter and one of the best bats in Buck Leonard. Also sports Howie Pollet in the rotation. Cincy- Phil Cavaretta here along with Negro League Star Jonas Gaines. Boston- Uhhh, how about Josh Gibson catching and cracking Home Runs, also Joe Vosmik hitting .343 in your outfield. Which team do you like? E-mail me with questions at jdgscorch@msn.com or follow the commish link and get in the darn league already!
