Crash when adding new manager

Whenever I want to add a new manager, the game crashes. That happenes just after the quick-scouting is complete. And it doesn't matter if I have scouting turned on or off...

I'm playing with the newest patch that came today.

Check on your HD space, do you have a lot left, or do you have very little? Also RAM (memory) should be at least 256 Megs , 512 is much better IMO, and higher is just gravy..

i have a newly formatted 300 gb sata 2 HD with 2gb of ram

however the error was resolved in the cubby/rolen thread - if you try to add another manager while their default bud selig manager is there, it crashes to the desktop. you have to delete bud first, then create your new guy

THAT'S what it is... I was able to work around it by creating a Joe Nobody manager, and then editing it to me, and then selecting the manager and it didn't crash...

I did that (deleting Bud first), but I still get the crash. Is there any other ideas?

Try the latest patch that is in Marc Duffy's sig. Just released this AM. Let us know.

try adding your guy unemployed, delete bud, then assign your guy to a team

I can resign him but not delete him.

What am I doing wrong?

ps: It says he was born in 1934 and age is 36. But the the current date is 2006???

Not sure where this is at but I know that I showed Cubby how to fix this last night for future releases, but until then the best thing to do is to go into the league file and delete the human_managers.dat file prior to opening the game. Then when you open the league immediately go and create a new general manager. This should take care of the problem for you.
