Team Leader Ability

Does having (or not having) a player with a good Team Leader ability rating effect the way a teams plays ??? i.e. if a team has no leader(s), will it play poorly??

Will a team with three leaders play better (worse?) that a team with one leader???

Thanks....

If it does affect anything, it's miniscule at best. These ratings were mostly added for show, but it is possible that a team will play better with more leaders. Maybe someone has conducted a study on this.

Having "some" players who are leaders "can" help rookies develop more quickly, not having enough can hinder this.

Hey, I have found that the leadership rating to do this in my leagues(not guranteed i guess, but what i have noticed in many years):
Leader-Gets "hot" toward the last month of the season. He produces much more toward the end of the season from the beginning.

No leadership-Get off to a quick start, but fades in the final month of the season.

I noticed this with allstar calibur players who i followed in my leagues. Most notably Babe Ruth. He had a great leadership rating. So he would mostly hit around 15 HR's the last month of the season compared the the 8 he hit during the others.

Hope this advice is true, if not....Sorry

I think Steve posted something along these lines a few weeks ago. Since then I've made sure that I have some guys with leadership ability on my team. Not only have young players been developing faster, but players also seem to max out with higher ratings. Now if I only had the money to sign all these guys .

I've noticed that a starting lineup with a few team leaders, and ONE rookie in the lineup, seem to help the rookie perform better. In cases where leadership is scarce, a rookie in the lineup seems more likely to falter & be sent down within a short amount of time.
