Question Pastime Club logo

I've been working on some logos for my league and I'm looking for some input. Which logo do you like for the Chicago Pastime Club, #1-Old school or #2-Modern?

#2 all the way, for me. I'm a fan of the ol' diamond backdrop and it's easier to read.

Hard to choose between them...both are very well done.

I would probably choose #1...it is cleaner, clearer and uncluttered.

#2 hides first and third bases. I would make it so they would show. That would make it less cluttered.

Then I might choose #2.

But as they are, I will vote for #1.

Definitely old school #1. I'd get rid of the outer white circle and make the inner circle-crossed bats the outline of your logo. Meaning, the white circle disappears and becomes transparent (or black). Then I'd rescale the logo larger if you can.

What he said.

Unless going after a soft or blurred effect, logo #2 just doesn't compare to #1 on sharpness.

Isn't spelled Pasttime? Unless you wanted it that way, in which case ignore what I just said.

My understanding is that it's a club doing things to "pass the time", therefore Pastime Club (or Passtime Club, but spellchecker says take out the extra "s").

Both look good to me (the 2nd time around). I'm having trouble deciding.

The only issue I have with either of the logos is that the "chicago pastime club" in logo 1 looks a bit odd without being centered at the top.

Unfortunately, I can't think of a good way to fix that since "chicago" is so much longer than "club."

If you aren't picky about the wording, what if you had "chicago pastime" along the top of the circle and "baseball club" along the bottom? That way the space in between Chicago and Pastime could be centered.

This is just nitpicking, it's a very good logo either way.

I get you but I don't know how to solve it. You can squish the words to get the space centered on the top or bottom but I think that would look goofy too. In my imagination, the Chicago Pastime Club is an entity that decided to put together a baseball team (to presumably go along with their other pastime efforts). So, I want the words "Chicago Pastime Club" together but what I could do is put "Chicago Pastime" on top and "Club - Baseball" on the bottom and see if the dash balances out the bottom words.

Anyway, thanks for the input.
