all-star game scheduleing problem 12252

Not sure if this is the same issue that has been reported but I haven't heard it described this way.

Imported 6.5x league, 5 levels of minors. Schedule appears to be setup like 6.5 which works nice. All-star break scheduled July 8-11 but the all-star game is scheduled for July 1. Game was saved as template so I reloaded and sure enough the default is July 1. No problem, only played 5 games so I'll just start over.

Schedule the all-star game on July 10, check a couple of other settings and return to the options screen and the date did not stick. It's back to July 1.
Reset it to July 10 and stay on this screen. Hit start game and the manager\gm box comes up. Drag box to the side and can see the date is still July 10. So I enter my name and pick my team and create the new game. Check the schedule in the new game and the all-star game is still on July 1.

Trouble is there is a full slate of games scheduled for July 1 also. I wouldn't mind playing through this in my first season while we await a fix. Problem though is I play out all my games and I don't want to get all the way to July and have this crash the game or find other issues. What happens if my thirdbaseman is on the all-star team and we have a game at the same time?
Over fatigued, not on my roster for my regular game, or corrupt the file on save? Or maybe it's no problem at all. I've used the same template to sim whole seasons for testing and haven't had a crash. Or maybe start over and not schedule the all-star game for the first year?

tt# if this is a new all-star problem
and any advice on if this will cause issues would be apprciated.

thanks,
Sweed

battists mentioned TT# 693 over here though I'm not sure which of the various ASG problems are covered by that.

Is the All-Star Game scheduled properly in the schedule file you're using? If it is, try importing the schedule again once the league is set up and running, that should overwrite the bogus ASG date the game insists on.

Thanks. I did read that thread and wasn't sure if this was covered or not so thought I'd post it.

The schedule format comes in with the 6.5 import and does follow a real MLB schedule. AS game was never a problem there not sure if there is a way to look at it since it came in from v6.5. Easiest way would be to fix it so the date would stick in the setup

I did run a quick test and playing the game on the 1st did not cause any problems so I can be patient for a fix.

I will check out the import schedule feature though. It's something I've never used but maybe I should. While my schedule format is real my Cubs do not play the White Sox every year. The interleague games rotate but do not keep the natural rivalries.

Thanks for your reply.

Ah, okay...if you want to keep using that schedule, I'd suggest exporting it from within the game so you'll have a schedule file in OOTP2006 format, then editing the correct All-Star date into it, then importing the schedule again. A bit cumbersome, but that ought to work.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Gah, I hate the freaking all-star game. :P

No idea whether this is covered by the other issue, so I've logged this as TT # 2192.

Hopefully Andreas will get back to you. It would probably help if you got your 6.5 league zipped up and either somewhere we could download it, or ready to e-mail.

Thanks,

Steve
