Game Freezes in Proceeding to Next Year

I am playing v6.51, and I just finished my 2006 season. When I click on the button to advance to the next season, the game generates all the reports but then freezes with the message "Proceeding to Next Season."

I tried advancing one day and then doing it again on a fresh game date, but that didn't work.

Anyone know how I can fix this problem?

Have you tried loading a backup of it? Where do the reports stop getting produced?

The reports seem to finish entirely. Then it goes to "PROCEEDING TO NEXT YEAR" and stays there for hours.

The last backup I did was a few weeks (game time) before the end of the season, but I haven't tried loading that one.

I've looked for oddities/incorrections, but I can't find anything that should make it not work.

If you go into league setup and check the number of rounds for the amatuer draft, there is a occasional problem where it changes to a huge number of rounds...this causes the game to freeze on generating rookies on proceeding to new year.

I'm pretty sure I have it set to 10, but I'll check. If this is the problem and I change it, will that solve the problem, or is it too late to fix it now?

If it is the problem, you will be able to proceed to next season after changing the draft rounds to a normal figure.

I had the draft set to 10 rounds. I changed it to 5 and tried again, but it still didn't work.

Is there any hope?
