Most people with opinions on the matter have made their feelings very well-known already.

Set up the line-ups, your pitching staff and depth charts. Demote the struggling rookie, put the injured starter on the DL and trade for a backup catcher. Manage the 40-man roster and scout the upcoming amateur draft pool. In OOTP you can do almost anything a real life GM can do to guide your team to glory.

A realistic and accurate simulation engine

No baseball game is complete without stats and OOTPBM 2006 is king. In addition to the multitude of statistics, a fully flexible engine allows you to make all the calls pitch-by-pitch. The game is truly as real as it gets.

Customizable financial system

Featuring the most flexible financial system in any baseball simulation ever made, OOTPBM 2006 lets you mirror existing intricacies or allows you to invent your own. The only restriction is your imagination.

Scouting and coaching staff at your disposal

All of the staff in your franchise have varying strengths, weaknesses, personalities and of course contract demands. OOTPBM 2006 puts all of your man management skills to the test; it’s in your hands!

Endless possibilities with historical and fictional leagues

Play the game with the real life setup of every major baseball league in the world and in addition, you can import every historical baseball season from 1900 to the present day. If that’s not enough simply create your own fictional baseball league.

Create or join an online league

Featuring a full online league mode, commissioners and multiple owners can battle it out against each other over the internet. Integrating seamlessly with FTP and HTML you can upload and download files and share them with friends.

Slick intuitive interface

Utilizing the technology and expertise of Sports Interactive, the game has a faster, smarter and slicker interface than ever before. What’s more, it’s fully skinable allowing you to change the game to suit your own personal tastes.
Can you please tell me in that advertisement of the game what DOESN'T work in the current state of the game? The only thing that I see is the broken FTP for online leagues. Everything else listed there works AS ADVERTISED. If you got a different advertisement, one that lists things that aren't in the game or that are broken, please be sure to let me know.

I'd say the Slick Intuitive Interface. While I've gotten use to the interface and will say it's slick. it took a couple of hours to get the feel for it so I don't know how Intuitive it was, and I'm sure there are a few things in the game that I'll never use just becuse there burried layers deep.

I think it does. Shoddy AI does not mean a game is broken. Show me a game with perfect AI and then maybe I'll change my vote.

The AI is about the same as it's was in 6 and 6.5 nor did the advertisment say the AI was going to be an improvement this year. It's a real shame that most of the old post for 6 are gone, I'd love to dig up the post of the guy the got sent down and called up every day.

I know I'm not the only person that feels this way, and I really don't feel like posting this will do any good, but.....

It's a game.

Sorry if it's not the game you would have created. Sorry if it doesn't have ALL the features you wish it had. Admittedly it has many problems and issues, but you WILL get a patch at no cost. And for those who feel that they were ripped off and spent money on a product that isn't finished, sorry again but life will find ways of doing that to you sometimes. I paid money to see Star Wars Episode III. Fell way short. I paid money to see The Da Vinci Code. Ditto. I am not fool enough however to bang on Hollywood's door and demand a refund for a product that doesn't deliver and I sure as heck am not going to see a "patched version" to fix what didn't work. It would be fantastic for everyone to drop the entitled attitude and understand that it's still only a game and while it may not be "better than Cats" now, at least we are being taken care of and SI is fixing what they can. It is, after all, just a game.

Flame away.

Works fine for me: http://ootp.oldredboat.com/index.php

9 sims in and only 1 major problem, which has a perfectly reasonable workaround.
