Navarro traded back to the AL East

http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/a...=.jsp&c_id=mlb

What happened with this kid? He was the most sought after Yankee prospect a couple of years ago. Now he's traded for Hall and a back-end of the rotation SP?

What happened to him is the Dodgers are stupid. He's still a pretty intriguing prospect, given his age.

Or the Yankees just overhyped him because they had no other prospects in their farm system worth a damn...

A 22 year old catcher with decent minor league numbers and about a season's worth of good numbers in the majors is a very valuable commodity, and even if you think he's overhyped he could certainly fetch more than a mediocre starter and a never-was catcher.

Oh I think he could have fetched more if everyone didn't already know the Dodgers had no use for him. His value dropped consderably with the great play of Martin.

Meh. Regardless of the players involved, trading a pitcher and a catcher for a worse pitcher and catcher who are actually payed more can never really be a good trade.

Why are people judging the value of players by who they are traded for? That's just a totally wrong approach. How rare are trades fair?

I saw that and was thinking the same thing. Not really sure what the thought process was.

Maybe Colletti thought he trading Dave Navarro. If that's the case the deal becomes a lot more defensible. Sure, the dude can probably wail during the seventh inning stretch but I don't see how much more use the Dodgers are going to get out of him. Come to think of it, maybe he's an offensive upgrade over Izturis. If Colletti could've convinced the D-Rays to throw in Vernon Reid the deal doesn't look like such a fleecing.

Coletti is the second-worst GM in the league.

Leave Draven alone now, he's very busy coming up with stats to prove he should have won more games than he did.
