Universal Team Boxing ***ociation
The Universal Team Boxing ***ociation was created in June of 2006 in hopes of bringing team competition to the sport of boxing. The rules will consist of....(If interested let me know, we are looking for 16 human controlled teams, the draft will be conducted in these forums until a better option is found)
Copied from SALs post later in this thread, please give him the credit The league will consist of: 1) Two divisions ( Gold & Silver ) 2) Eight teams in each division 3) 16 boxers on each team, two boxers per each of the 8 original weight classes. (Only the stock database of fighters will be used) Rules of the UTBA: 1)Teams will face all the teams in their respective division one time per season. 2) Team versus team will operate as follows: A: A boxer will face both boxers of the same weight class from the team they are matched up against one time each. Example: Boxer #1-(HW) of team A will face boxers #1-(HW) & #2-(HW) of team B Boxer #2-(HW) of team A will face boxers #1-(HW) & #2-(HW) of team B B: All bouts in team matches will be scheduled for 12 rounds. C: Boxers will earn points for their team as follows: 3 points - for a KO or TKO win 2 points - for a win on points or by DQ 1 point - for all draws 0 points - for a loss -1 points - for a DQ loss D: At the end of the season, all teams will be allowed to release up to three boxers and replace them with boxers from the draft pool. Draft Pool 1)Boxers released from the team will be added to the draft pool. New boxers will be randomly added to the draft pool at the end of each season. 2) The order in which teams will draft(straight draft); the team with the worst point total at the end of a season will have the first pick, the team with the 2nd worst point total will have second pick…..and so on. Fighters will age as follows: The aging option in the game will be used and all fighters will start at the beginning setting. Aging range: move to pre-prime......TBD move to prime..........TBD move to post-prime.....TBD move to end............TBD move to retired........TBD Individual Rankings: Fighters in both the Gold & Silver division will be ranked together Referees & Judges: Both will be selected by random A)Scoring: 10 point must Tech.Draw through 5 rounds/scorecard after 5 Only the Referee can stop the bout 3 Judges will score No 3 knockdown rule No standing 8 count Tournaments There will be two tournaments held at the end of each season. 1) The UTBA Team Championship: the team with the most points in the Gold and the Silver division will meet to determine the UTBA Team Champion. 2) Individual Tournaments: the top 16 ranked fighters in each weight class will take part in a 16-man tournament to determine individual champion. 3) All tournament bouts will be scheduled for 15 rounds. A. All champions (individual or team) will fight the entire next season with champion bias selected on all the judges scoring. B. Individual Championship Titles will be at stake everytime a champion fights. Do away with the draft pool for the first year draft. All managers of teams could make a list of 16 fighters (2 fighters in each of the original 8 weight divisions) that they want using the following guidelines. Each team must have: 1 fighter rated 10 or 11 1 fighter rated 9 2 fighters rated 8 2 fighters rated 7 3 fighters rated 6 3 fighters rated 5 2 fighters rated 4 2 fighters rated 3 and submit the list to SAL by PM. __________________The above has been copied from Sal's post later in this thread, please credit him for this Interested so far COMMISH: SAL 1.jbergey22-Undisputed Champions(22)-ROSTER IN 2.Claybor-Juggernaut(66)-ROSTER IN 3.Romdawg88 -Muckboys(88)-ROSTER IN 4.a87star- Shaolin Club Fighters(28) 5.Ian Lord-Tile Hill Top Team(96)-ROSTER IN 6.Conn Chris-Hebron Haymakers(46)-ROSTER IN 7.mh2365-MexiVilles(34)-ROSTER IN 8.bigMatt-Bonner Springs Bums(79)-ROSTER IN 9.vistaman44-Barbarians(47) 10.umk-Backyard Bums(7)-ROSTER IN 11.shane6969-Boxing Kangaroos(43)-ROSTER IN 12.javier 83-Aztek Fighters(83) 13.Catalion-Punching Gatitos(35)-ROSTER IN 14.Ice Tea-Iceteaboxing(11)-ROSTER IN 15.Romultiltus-Tomato City(50)-ROSTER IN 16.Tosti-Cawkney Crusaders-ROSTER IN Last edited by jbergey22; 07-05-2006 at 10:14 AM. |

Like I said earlier, I'm in however I won't be around for the month of July as I'll be on vacation without any access to the internet, so if ya'll get it set up during then if someone would be willing to draft my team for me I'll take over when I get back.

OK, Here is the deal!
We are going to get this going. Sal has volunteered to run this as a commish which is wonderful news for me. He may want to change a few rules to what he wants or is familiar with, but I think the basic format will be similiar. I would assume he will come out with a new thread giving the rules of how he would like it run, in the meantime please post under this thread still if interested, and I'll pass the info along or atleast we will get this thing organized so we can start ASAP. Thanks |

Thanks for the offer BigMatt but sadly I don't have Text messaging also I don't have TBCB on this computer so I can't look over the database and make a list. What I was planning was to grab the best fighter left really I wasn't worryed about a plan until the next draft when I had to fill in the holes on the roster. Ya know if you don't got the time to do the draft don't worry about it BigMatt but once again thanks for the offer.

Well in that case I call both Sugar Rays and Ali. Actually, for real if your going to set them up with their fighters I'd like to have Thomas Hearns and Shane Mosley.

Here are some questions I have for you guys. 1. Should we use the auto-aging feature or not? If we don't use the auto-age, should we set a limit on how many years a fighter is allowed to fight in this league? 2. On the draft, would you guys want me to stock a draft pool for you to draft your teams from? Or we could draft on our own with some sort of salary cap. (Example...you can only have 2 fighters rated 10 or higher, 2 fighters rated 9, 3 fighters rated 8 and so on.....) 3. Should we use the injury option in the game? 4. Is this going to be strictly a team league and not worry about any individual champions? The only time I see participating in this league that will be time consuming for everyone is the initial draft and at the end of each season when teams are allowed to drop fighters and draft to replace them. Other than that, its just sit back, watch what happens and bad mouth one another all season long. |

Yeah, the drafts are going to be the only things that take up time but it doesn't matter if it takes a week or two to get through the whole thing so everyone should be able to sign up and play.
1. I vote for auto-aging, the randomness of when people switch to different career stages adds abit of extra flavor. 2. Draft pool, just like the MBF I think it's funner that way. 3. I'm not sure about Injury either way is fine with me. 4. Yes to Individual champions, gives us some extra bragging rights.
