Thumbs down Career Suddenly Over.

I had a career league going for 7 seasons when suddenly while simming the preseason, a message came up saying one of the team's triple AAA team had no active players on the team. I looked up the team and every level was full from ML to rookie ball.

I ran computer manage rosters, and everything else I could think of to fix this, but there's nothing else I can do. The game won't go past this error so that league is now OVER!! I wasted allot of time and wonder if I start another league and spend weeks playing it, will this happen again?

Man, this sucks. Has anyone else had this happen and know of a fix? Markus or Marc? Anyone?

There's an option under "game setup", then click on the "league setup" tab. Choose the league that is having the problem. Click on "other functions" in the bottom right, and choose fill teams with fictional players. I'd recommend increasing the # of amateur draft rounds for future drafts, I'd guess that is where the problem lies. I'm playing in commish mode, so you may have to go to your manager home page and toggle this option on to be allowed to fill teams.

You should post this in tech support, and be ready to give specifics, as well as save a screen shot of the team in question with their full roster as well as the error message. I think there is a "how to " to get the screen shots if you are not sure how. They would be interested to see this.

EDIT" sorry, saw you already did this. Good luck.

I already tried what you suggested here. No luck. Tried commissioner mode too. I can't think of anything else.

Wow, sorry. I'd save the league and post it in the tech forum. PM Marc Duffy and he'll more than likely help you get the situation resolved. I had a similar problem with a saved league not loading in FM, and they worked with me until the situation was resolved.

Figured it out. Thanks for replies. Apparently the problem was there were three AAA minor league teams in the city of Glendale. Glendale also had 2 AA teams and 3 more in A and rookie ball. The game should not create multiple teams in one city. I can see cities like New York or Chicago, but Glendale? I mean where the hell is Glendale anyway?

Glendale is in CA.

You ought not be getting multiple minors in one town. Any changes to cities.txt?

How many clubs in how many minor leagues?

Glendale is in suburban Los Angeles county. Its next door to the city of Burbank...made famous by the Tonight Show. Its about 5 miles from Dodger Stadium.

I've seen the same thing in some of the leagues I've set up, and I don't make any changes to the cities.txt file.

yes, patched version.

none of the major league level teams were duplicated, but there were a few duplicates in the 5 levels of minors (8 teams in each).

There's also a Glendale, AZ (suburb of Phoenix), FWIW. But it's neither as large nor as prominent, apparently.

Glendale is in California ... and Arizona ... and Colorado ... and Missouri ... and Ohio ... and Oregon ... and New York ... and, well, you get the picture.

In your world, Glendale loves baseball -- ALL the Glendales, apparently.

All the commentary brings me to ask the obvious question.

Are your teams all in the same Glendale?
