Editing the Draft
Every time I scout a draft my scouts come back with there top 10 but there are never any pitchers in the top ten. Is there a way to edit something so I have pitchers that are worth taking in the first or sometimes even second round. Thanks

How good are your scouts at evaluating pitching? Maybe you've got a staff of guys that are only good at scouting hitters?

If they were poor at scouting pitchers shouldn't they then falsely scout some average pitchers as studs? I've always assumed that a poor scout misses on ratings equally high and low.

Has this happened over a number of seasons? It's entirely possible that if this is over a short span, there were just no top 10 pitchers in that draft. Go turn on commisioner mode and have a look at the actual ratings of the draft pool and decide for yourself if they have missed something. I also would assume that if your scouts are bad at scouting pitchers they should miss high just as often as they miss low. Lastly, if you feel that the pitchers ratings are too low as a whole, change the creation modifier to make the game generate better pitchers.

I am using MLB v 3.1 by Matter2003, and when the draft pool is announced I usually send three scouts to scout it. My head scout and two others. I make sure they have varying strengths as well as tendencies. Some that value hitting and another that values pitching, as well as the other things listed under strategy preferences.
What does your draft log say? Are any pitchers being taken early? |

I send a scout that is good in pitching and one that is good in batting and the pitching one doesn't even have a top picthing prospect in the top ten. I don't have any pitchers taken until the end of the first round sometimes not until the second.
