CatoBase lockup on Schedule Splits
OK, I'm at wit's end here and if anyone could help out, it would be really, really appreciated.
I've been running the Cato's History pages for the MBBA, an online league with 20 years' history accumulated. (http://www.mbba.ootp-online.com) I just started trying to generate pages for the 20th season and I'm running into some bigtime problems. One of the teams, the Montreal Blazers, did business as the Quebec Royales for a few seasons, and then switched back to Montreal starting in 1991 (the year I'm having trouble with). I can take the league file from 1991, import it into my CatoBase database (using the latest & greatest version of 6.14). This works fine. However, when I try to generate the history pages, it locks up. The page generation works all the way through all the player pages, but eventually locks up at the phase "Montreal Blazers - Determining Schedule Splits." I don't know if this is because MON became QUE and reverted to MON, or what. I do know that in the Team Info page I've got QUE listed as the prior team for MON, so that should be taken care of. I can't figure out why the page generation's locking up though. I've tried a lot of fiddling around with the .MDB file in Access to no avail. Any help out there? |

You should have had the abbreviation for the 2nd Montreal as MTL or something other than MON. That way when you did the Franchise association in CATO you don't have a circular reference back to the original name. I think that it is just confusing the program with the 2nd MON abbreviation.
Try changing the abbreviation and see if that helps.... |

SandMan, I can't thank you enough for the advice. It worked to perfection.
Going MON -> QUE -> MON was causing the lockups. Instead, I went MON -> QUE -> MTL and now the pages generate completely without lockups. You made an entire league-ful of people very happy. We're now able to get our complete 20-year history uploaded to the league's site. Thanks once again! |
