New League/Universe - IAB
I'm starting a new league universe called the International Association of Baseball.
The primary league in the IAB will be the United States Baseball Association, which will begin with two conferences of four teams. Each of these teams has 5 minor league teams (AAA, AA, A, Short Season A, Rookie). The other major league will be the JSL (Japanese Sun League), which has one minor league team (AAA equivalent, Japanese Development League). The concept is a little bit similar to the old BETA Baseball league - but for those who didn't like full control, it works for you too. Every team can have an owner, general manager, and manager - but you are not required to, you as the owner can opt to take over all those duties on your own. I'm expecting to have a league file and final constitution up tonight, so you'll be able to get a better picture, but right now I'd like to open it up for any questions, suggestions, or if anyone is just generally interested. One thing to keep in mind is that unlike most leagues that start like this, there isn't a draft held. I told the game to randomly pick the rosters. I know that will likely be unpopular, but that's how we're choosing to start it. I'll be holding IAB and USBA Presidencies (at least until I find someone very involved and experienced to hold the USBA position). I am currently looking for someone to oversee the Japanese operations. The USBA teams are: Western Conference Dallas Lone Stars Las Vegas Jackpot Los Angeles Nighthawks Phoenix Fire Eastern Conference (X) Chicago Storm Miami Wave New York Liberty Washington D.C. Revolution I gave all 8 teams, 5 local minor league teams which are all appropriately named. Obviously, I won't be expecting too many people to pick a team right now because they haven't seen the rosters, and they may want to see what the Japanese league has to offer as well, but I just wanted to see if there's an interest. More information can be found here. File can be found here. So if you're interested, feel free to reply with your Name, e-mail address, AIM, whether you'd likely run your team on your own or if you'd plan to get a GM and/or manager. I'll give those who reply first, the first choices. EDIT: Site should be finished by Wednesday morning. File is now up. Last edited by O-Man; 06-20-2006 at 10:21 PM. |

So how are things going with this league? Haven't heard about it in a while. Do you have a site up yet?

there are a couple of other posts about this league in the last couple days.
We have 3 openings, the site is up, the file is up, we're just waiting to fill up, get the patch (whenever that comes out) and start simming. |
