Compensation for Trade?

Interesting situation. My team really needed a 2bman and I traded away a pretty good MR for a young decent 2Bman. AFter the trade went through, I got a second mail that stated I had recieved the other teams 1st round draft pick as compensation for them signing my player.

While I appreciate the help... it just doesn't seem like this should occur.

It looks like the game got confused and interpreted your trade as a free agent signing.

Yeah - that seems to be the case. This hasn't happened before so it seems like this must be a rare situation.

I also have never seen this before. When did you pull the trade off? Was it during the offseason?

It happens between the end of the playoffs and when the free agents file.

Well I have moved way past it in my league timeline, and I didn't save a screenie. I didn't take a pic because I had no idea how to post it. FYI - I am patched and it was DURING the regular season... after the June draft (around mid July).

OK, if/when it happens again, post it. IF this happens post patch, it ought to be checked into Test Track for triage.

I have asked for a educational thread to be stickied concerning screenshots; getting them and posting them.

I lost a first rounder for a trade after the playoffs and between the FA filing. If it happens again I'll post a screenie.

Side note. I got no compensation (or at least no notice) for losing the league leader in RBI's (168) to Free Agency.

Ok the first screenshot is the trade proposal which I agreed to and the second one is the compensation. I didn't get any compensation for my guy who was probably a little better than the one I received. Notice that this happened on May 5th.
