A plea for Specific AI Feedback
Markus and crew really want to keep tweaking the AI to make it as smart as possible.
If you see AI behavior that you think is faulty or downright stupid, PLEASE post in Tech Support, with specific examples, including why you think it was stupid. This includes things like: - strange in-game (pbp) decisions or results - AI roster decisions - AI trade decisions - Contract negotiation issues - Game engine results (like too many shutouts, etc.) and so forth. Please limit yourself to one comment or suggestion per Tech Support post, though. Each issue raised needs to be identified and looked at individually. Thanks very much! Steve |

It makes me incredibly happy that the OOTP team cares enough about its product and users to continue to improve and update the game. It makes me really optimistic about the game and its future. As for AI decisions, I think I can fix this with the strategy sliders, but the default manegerial tendencies seem to be a little substitution happy. I've seen a lot of 9 inning games where the computer managers seem to use everyone on their rosters. Especially with regard to the pitchers, there are a lot of times when the computer will use a pitcher for one batter for 4 or 5 batters in a row. Again, I think I can mess with the settings to control this, but it's a pain and I wish the defaults were a little lighter on the substitutions. |

it may not be a bug per se, but it's certainly something that could be tweaked a little (I think).

I shouldn't have responded to this at all, but the negativity gets to me. No one is forcing you to buy this game. Most games have bugs: programs are complicated. Markus and SI will work hard to fix them, have patience. Let's make this thread about AI feedback, not a flame war about whether or not version 1.0 of this or any game is a beta. In before lock. Wow, why not just put your suggestions down? Have you made even one productive post? one that hasn't been deleted?

Dare I say it? Yes, it is too bad the Senior Member of the Board is offline right now. It might have been amusing to watch him eat the late, great CoF.

Dunno what Circle said but I sure hoep it wasnt just that 1.1 should be called beta cuz thats pretty accurate. What is important is that these guys will keep working on it til its right. Ill make a list and post them in tech support.
