Maybe I'm not getting something here (international leagues)
But I'm not seeing the benefit in these leagues in terms of bringing over new talent.
It seems as if the premise behind bringing over talent from these leagues is to trade for them like you'd trade for any other player. However, you won't see that in today's game. If a player is coming from the Japans or Chinas, the team they play for is paid a hefty price for the rights to negotiate with that player. If a player is in one of the various hispanic leagues, that player is signed as a very young and raw player and allowed to develop in the minors, not traded for. What benefit is there to have these outside leagues running? |

The biggest benefit is trying to figure out how the major league equivalencies and player creation modifers work for your Japanese league like everyone in the thread at the top of the page is doing...lol
Until that is figured out having outside leagues won't function as well as they are intended. |

Their function isn't necessarily to give you a new source of talent, although you could use it that way. It's more to provide more depth to your baseball universe. It tends to be more attractive to people who want to play in Commisioner/God mode than those who are looking to play armchair GM.

I'm not even touching that thread. That kind of stuff makes my head hurt. I'm just curious as to whether this is the only way to bring over a player from another league.
