It is the same stuff, using same calculations, adding 1871-1899, plus 2005.

I have done attendance back to 1969. I stopped at that point as the research past that point slowed down. It would take a day or so to get the data from retrosheet and get it into shape.

Because of that, I have not touched average ticket price. I image therre has got to be a nifty equation that can be developed to take the suggested ticket price (based on 30K attendance) and then multiply it by 30000/actual avg attendance.

Sound like work!

Well, maybe not . . .

I did not anticipate this spreadsheet being a minor hit with historical simmers. I am not a big historical simmer, which is odd because I am a history nut. I ought to be polishing it, I suppose,as I have been told it has increased their enjoyment of the game.

If I can do my Moldava mod in an afternoon, I can figure out average attendance with retrosheet, then relate the two sets of data.

Looks like ticket prices are just under 50 cents right up until the start of WW II.

Why is the ticket price so high in 1890 compared to other years from that era? I'm in no way trying to say it's inaccurate, just curious as to what made it so much more in that year.

Cash max: 19,100
Min salary: 668
Superstar player: 30,560
Star player: 22,920
Good player: 13,370
Media average: 47,750
Ticket price: .26

As you can see these are the figures from the spreadsheet yet I'm getting players making over a million dollars. Anyone else seeing this, or am I doing something wrong?

Well pretty much every team has players making the minimum then several players making in the thousands, then several in the hundred thousands, then one or two in the one to two million range. I've started two leagues with the figures to make sure it wasn't just a fluke, but same thing. I've also selected make fictional contracts thinking that would force contracts based on these figures, but no help. Is the financial coefficient supposed to be the default 1.000?

You might be on to a bug. It sounds like just editing the curve and not touching the coefficient allows some wild contracts.

Try again, this time with a coefficient of 0.00191. Then, set your variables as you had above. Then report back with data.

I dont see any listed:
avg coach
above average
average
below average
fair
poor

If you manually set the salary curve like you are doing, all of the lines must be altered, otherwise you can get a roller coaster like wage curve.

Well the good news is there is no bug! I didn't realize the screen scrolled down further - I was wondering why you listed fair, below, etc. on the spreadsheet. Sorry still getting used to the interface I guess. Anyway thanks for the help, and thanks for putting these numbers together, everything looks great (I didn't touch the coefficient).
