I messed up - not the game (lost stats?)
This is just plain weird.
I run a career league, imported from OOTP6 (and previous incarnations). I was really afraid that things wouldn't import at ALL, but to my everlasting joy, everything did. Well, everything I wanted. I named myself manager/general manager of one of the teams. I played the games for that team and autoplayed the rest of the schedule. All was going very well for games through May 15 or so. Then I needed to reboot the PC. And when I relaunched OOTP2K, I looked like this: The game is now at April 13. For some reason, games from April 14 through May 15 or thereabouts ... the stats from those games aren't in the system at all. However, when I look at the folder in Explorer (Data\Saved Games\New Game.lg, which is the correct league), the stats and records appear to be there. Now, why would this be? It occurred to me that in the Game dropdown menu, one can select Save Game. Hm. Was I supposed to save my season before rebooting? That hadn't occurred to me in the slightest. I suspect most people won't know how to help me, because it's probably Just One of Those Things. It's not the end of the world - I'll just have to replay the games from April 14 to May 15ish. But I thought it was worth a shot! (Again, not a bug, just a User Error, I s'pect.) |

There's now an option for autosave frequency. It's not automatic like before. You might have it set as once per season; I believe that's the default.

Hm. I must have missed that option - can you tell me where it is?
But if I didn't save the season, how come the data for for games after the "current" date in the program (April 13) appear in the OOTP folder (May 15 or so, the last time I played the game)? ETA: When I close the game, it autosaves on its own - at least that's what "Saving..." implies to me. Last edited by DanF; 06-07-2006 at 08:07 PM. |

Just a final bump before I declare this a lost cause.
![]() I would like to figure this out, because even though simming 30 days' of games (again) isn't the end of the world, I'd hate to get to May 15ish and find the same problem. So any ideas are welcome. |

DanF, I don't suspect there is anything we can do about the fubared situation of your league right now. However, I am logging this as a bug, so at least Markus can take a look at it. It seems a little odd in a "not user error" kind of way...

Thanks, battists. I'm sure there's something I myself did wrong somewhere along the line, but I can't suss it out. I'm going to resim the missing games and hope for the best.
(It's an odd setup. Just me, using the players OOTP came with and some customized ones. Been using one game or another since 1988, and OOTP has been my game of choice since.... OOTP3, I believe. Anyway, OOTP2K6 is really, really fantastic; perfect for me.) |
