Question about FA's with financials off
I want to be able to have a universe with a fairly large number of foreign leagues, however judging by the great foreign leagues thread, getting the financials right (esp for gamebalance considerations) for them will be maddeningly difficult, which makes me want to just turn off the financials for all of them except a few (e.g. Japan). The problem is that the game guide makes it sound like none of the players from leagues with financials off will ever make it into the global free agent pool (because they'll stay with their team forever). Is this right, or is there some way to have leagues w/o financials have players go into the free agent pool with players from leagues w/ financials?

I would assume that you are correct in that leagues w/o financials will not produce FA.
I didn't read the thread you mentioned but I'll tell you how I setup my foreign leagues. I took the default major league financial data and extrapulated the % of revenue for each of the expense categories (super star player, coaches, ...). My goal was to emulate the assumed financial stability of the default major league across all leagues, just at lower revenue/expense levels. I can upload the spreadsheet I created if anyone is interested. But really it's simple math and nothing all that special.
