Steals, wild pitches, stealing third, bunts

Internal game logic needs to be looked at for all of the above.

Far too many steals. I have a 1948 fictional team with 648 steals -- that's one team. Extraordinary number of attempts to steal third, ridiculously wrong logic to even try when game is on the line and player is already in scoring position on second. Will this get adjusted in the second season since I've selected adjust to historical settings (if I understand manual correctly even a fictional league will adjust to historical league settings by looking at database totals???)

Wild pitches have already been reported, but I don't see it mentioned in patch #1 change list.

Far too many bunts. Had a catcher with 6 of 100 speed attempt to bunt for a hit.

Horrible game logic where an intentional walk is issued to a weak hitter when a runner is on first with nobody out in the ninth in tie game. Very stupid.

Thought I would give this one a gentle bump...

I have stated many times my disappointment with the wild pitch coding. There are FAR too many for any level...

I have also come across an inordinate number of attempts to steal third base, and 98% of those that I have seen have been successful...

And, the recognition (or lack thereof) of the pitchout. Right now it just looks like your pitcher missed WELLLLL outside and high...

In addition, I have never thrown a runner out when I pitch out and he steals. I have played out an entire season with OOTP 2006 and I would say that I guessed right on the pitchout about 20-some times and never caught the runner stealing.

This problem was reported pre-patch #2. I need to test a little more since the patch. Seeing a lot of wild pitches, but I want to play out some more solos.

Stealing third seems better. When they do, it's a 90-100 speedster.

Wild pitches are still broken in Patch #2. Here is the newer, post-patch thread.

Question Steals Issue, Switch Hitter Issue, Contract Issue

Steal Issue: The runner is not credited with a steal if the catcher throws the ball away - I believe the proper scoring is a stolen base and an error.

Switch Hitter Issue: I noticed that a switch hitter who starts the game batting lefty against a right handed pitcher continues to bat left handed if a lefty reliever enters later in the game.

Contract Issue: My free agents to be never respond to my extension offers - what ends up happening is that the financial system tells me I have no money to offer for entensions, even though I have no offers outstanding (i.e., when I look at the extension screen after about a week, there is no offer present, yet if I try to make another offer the funds I should have available for extensions have been reduced).

thanks much

SS,

Make sure to post the other contract issue in a seperate thread, and please try to do a search before posting duplicates if possible. We are looking into this and will be monitoring it while testing and when we have more definite info we will post asap.

Thanks!

We have identified a specific wild pitch issue with historical leagues, it is TT 2138. We are not aware of any wild pitch issues with non-historical leagues.

The stolen base issue (player steals, is safe on error, but isn't credited with a stolen base) is TT # 1985.

The switch-hitter issue (switch-hitter fails to switch sides after pitching change) is #2025.

Rasnell, and others, I know that it's tempting to post multiple issues in one thread, or to jump in on another person's thread and add in the problems you've seen in that area. However, from our side, it's ultimately much easier to track, record, and fix these issues if you can stick to one issue per thread. Please try to help out with that in the future - it can only help your problems get resolved more promptly.

Thanks very much,

Steve
