Spring Training/Minors Schedule Issues

I imported an OOTP6.5 league then added minor league affiliates (AAA, AA, A, Short Season A, Rookie).

I checked "schedule spring training", but come March, no spring training was scheduled. That was annoying, but I moved on.

Finally got to my draft and went through all 25 rounds. Go to set up my Rookie League lineups, and I realized that Rookie and Short Season A were finishing their seasons. Isn't this backwards? Shouldn't they start in June, so that draftees can play?

Check the schedule settings for your minor leagues. I think by default the opening date for minor leagues is set to April 1st. You'd need to change the dates to something more appropriate. The schedule lengths too for that matter.

I know; I fixed that in a new league I started. But it's in the nature of a "rookie" league or short season A to start in June. Otherwise, there's no point to the shortened schedule. And it sucks to realize that that's not the case when you've spent hours simming to June, and have nowhere to play your draftees.

Spring training, though, I still can't figure out. I've started 3 leagues, each time made certain that "Schedule Spring Training" was marked, and I've never had a spring training.

Is it just your first season in the new game where your spring training doesn't come up? It may be that new games (converted or otherwise) don't get spring training in that first season.

Yeah, it is the first season and it is a converted league. I'll see if it schedules ST next season.
