Active/Inactive Leagues in the Patch

I know that Markus has said this will be in the first patch, but it is not listed in the Patch thread. I am just making sure if this is still in the works.

I too hope this is still in and if its not, I hope we find out about it before the patch comes out. I'm setting up my career counting on this and if its not going to be in there, I'll find something else to do until it is in a patch.

either way while resolcing present would be better than adding new features, this would be a very big thing for me at least to be added.

I doubt the patch is anything other than bug fixes. I wouldn't expect active/inactive ability for a month or two at least.

A patch is bug fixes, an update is adding functionality. Markus usually gives us a decent update sometime after patching the worst bugs. As I said, we'll probably see an "update" within a couple months.

This whole think makes my pre-ordering look just foolish. Fool me once shame on me, but I will not get fooled a second time (I hope).

Money, in wallet, waiting for months.

Not that I don't think eventually it'll get there, but buying it now will just frusterate me. Now I don't feel bad about all the bugs/issues/complaints/missing features, not that there are THAT many, but we haven't even seen online leagues try to use it, and that's all I care about.

Not being able to activate/inactivate leagues does not make the game "barely playable". It just makes certain scenarios undoable and Markus was completely up front about the activate/inactivate situation. He didn't do any "fooling". He could have just waited until the 2007 version to add this, instead he will be adding it in an update because so many people want it.

No it does not. What I was referring to is the fact that star players will leave the Major Leagues and sign with Winter Leagues, and Minor Leagues via free agency, that the Rule 5 draft will stop you from progressing in your season, that the computer will eat up your CPU, and there are many things that will crash it to the desktop.

Don't get me wrong as I am very impressed with the direction the game is going and I will spend time getting used to all the new settings, coefficents, and interface, but as a whole the game is not very playable at the moment. That was what I meant to refer to.

Well, this is something that depends on how you set up your Winter League & Major Leagues. If the winter league teams have a bunch of money, why wouldn't they be able to sign players away from the Major Leagues?

All of the other stuff are things that will likely be patched in the next week or two. I agree that there are problems now, but that is something that is typical of releasing a game like this and also why Markus quickly gets the patches out.

Which is great. I trust that Markus will get this game in to full working order in the patch next week. And that was point all along, although I was not very effective in composing it.

Since it takes a week after release to get the game in good working order, it makes pre-ordering a bit of a strange thing to do, because getting it early is not really that great a thing.

I guess I just disagree here, especially with this version where there are so many new things to learn/get accustomed to. If you wait until after the patches to buy, you are waiting that long to start your learning curve.
