Waivers not working properly.
I put a guy from AA on waivers because I couldn't figure out how to release him outright at first (found that under action in the player profile later), but it didn't remove him from the AA roster.
Apparently only sending him to DFA does that. |

You really shouldn't have to pull a guy off your roster to waive him, and I actually am happy that that's been fixed.

Personally, not knowing much about transactions, I'd be curious to hear from others about which is the "correct" way for this to work...

I think it's working correctly. Only after he clears would you pull him off a roster.

Just placing a player on waivers, per ce, doesn't mean that they're necessarily off the roster. So called "Major League Waivers" (the waivers generally used after the trade deadline to make players eligible to be traded) are done just to put the player on the waiver wire and not to remove them off the roster, otherwise major league teams would be missing a lot of players in August.
![]() As a general rule, waivers are usually a result of another action instead of causing an action. In order to remove a player from a secondary/40 man roster, a player must clear waivers. In addition, a player out of option years has to clear waivers before being assigned to the minor league team. In both cases, the team isn't waiving the player in order to make the transaction, the team is making the transaction, and one of the steps of the transaction would be to place the player on waivers. So if you're asking for an outright release of a player (like you were trying to do) what would happen from a MLB standpoint is you would go for the outright release, the player would be DFA'd and placed on waivers, and if he didn't get claimed, he'd then finally get released. So the waivers are working fine - at least in that example.

You should see a button labeled "Manage attachments." Above that, it shows all of the valid file extensions you can attach to your post. There's a 100 kb size limit, but as long as your picture is smaller than the size limit and fits the valid image extensions, you can upload it to the server, and it will be embedded in your post. |
