New Stadiums

I haven't been here in a while so this may have been asked before.

Anyway, I just entered the Great American Ball Park in one of my leagues. I sent the Commish the exact specs from ballparks.com and estimated the OOTP ratings based on Cinergy Field. We are now a month and a half into the season and my team is hitting .254 on the road and .216 at home. My team isn't exactly a great hitting team but I know it's not that bad.

So the question is: Does anything need to be done when creating a stadium other than entering the basics (walls, dimensions, etc.)? For instance, dealing with the coordinate numbers, etc.

Nope... as long as you have the right ballpark ratings in there you'll be all set.

The ballpark ratings are explained here:

Only thing that efects the ballpark ratings are the numbers for Hr, Avg, 2B's, and 3B's.

The Ballpark dimensions are only use to say "Joe Blow" hit a 500 Ft HR. Only used in the play by play to get a distance of a HR.

Same as the wall height. This only determines a leaping catch of a possible HR (or something like that).

So with the HR, Avg, 2B, and 3B ratings, if you made a stadium that was 125 in HR, that means that there were 25% more HR's in that park than in an "average" park (average being 100). If your 3B numbers are 65, that means that there were 35% less 3B's hit in that park than in an "average" park.

For instance if you have a park with a CF wall of 900 ft, and a ballpark HR rating of 150, you will still get approximatly 50% more HR's in that park than the average park (even with the loooong distance to the fence), but alot of those HR's will be like 925 Ft.

Hope that clears that up a little for you.
