Angry My game won't load after 4 days of inputting stats.

After hundreds of hours of inputting countless players into a new league the game froze up and now it won't load at all.
I had been doing this for four days now and everything was going so well. I had about 100% of the starters on their new teams and was just left with the extra's.
I went to simulate a league with the players and teams I had created and had simulated one game and got a message from one of the teams and I clicked no to it and then I got another one and I said no again since I wanted to get the results quickly and after that is simply didn't respond.
Eventually I had to close the program and when I tried to reload the game again it would load all the way until the bar was full and just sit there.
And I would see that it wasn't responding and have to close it yet again.
Now, is there anything I can do to save the data I have already created if I have to reinstall this again?
If I save the league folder will it still work? Or is the file corrupted or something and useless now?
It's 3:30 in the morning so I'm going to bed but I sure hope there is a way to solve this without losing all the work I've put into this league of mine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Could you give me more info on exactly what you were attempting to do and on where you stood in this process? We rosters/rotations complete and lineups?

Well after I had traded the starting players and the pitching staffs to each team I decided to give the league and quick simulation to see how it turned out.
So I went through each team and set up the pitching staff and the lineups and had simulated one game.
After which I began receiving the little e-mail messages from a couple teams that I chose not to read at the time.
It was at that point that the game just sat there.
The e-mails were still sitting on the screen at the time it froze.
Then when I went to reload the game again it would go through the whole process of loading and again would just sit there at the end without loading fully.
Like it was stuck. Like it was still thinking or searching for something.
I'd like to move on as soon as possible. I tried again this morning and it did the same thing.

But you didn't give me the answers to those questions?

I had inputted about 400 players from throughout history onto the 30 teams in the league I was creating. Which gave me the starting 9 for each team easily with some bench players as well. I had filled the pitching staff's completely.
There were still the computer created players left on each team to make up the rest of the bench for each of the 30 teams as well.
Now other than that I'm not sure what else you might want.
I didn't have a problem inputting any players. That part was tedious in that I had to search out all these teams and players in numerous books and such, but flawless in how the game executed it.
It was when I started the simulation that the game died. Specifically after one game was played.
I did go through each team and set it's pitching staff and lineup before I started the simulation as well.
The one thing I can say is that the game did seem to be taking longer and longer to save the further along I got into this process. But, it still did save in the end.
Sometimes accessing the free agents took awhile as well.

Go into the game folder and remove that league folder and place it in another location, then try to load the game. Then(minimize the game) and place the league folder back inside the OOTP folder and try to open the league that way.

Okay, I did as you said and the game loaded just fine. Which was nice to see. So that is good. It loaded a previous league I was playing and did it nice and fast.
Then I put my league folder back into the game folder and tried to load it like that but the same thing happened.
The bar loads all the way to the end and then just sits and seems to be searching or looking for something because the computer is still working during this.
But nothing happens and I can see it's just not responding.
I'm not sure how one folder can go bad doing pretty much nothing, but if the folder does have some kind of error in it is there any way for me to import the teams to another league perhaps? Or is the whole folder toast?
So I don't lose all that information and very long and painstaking work I've been doing over the past few days.

Currently there is not a way to import the teams, but Pierre is updating his editor from v3 to v4 and it will be able to import teams and players from other leagues. I'm not sure when it will be done, but just hang on to it and maybe it can be saved.

Okay then. Thanks for all your help though. I appreciate the fact you have this board for people to use and are very prompt in responding to people's questions.
Do you have any idea why this would happen?
The last thing I want to do is spend 4 more days inputting players and have this happen again.
Basically the process I used was I would import a team from history to my league, trade the player I wanted to a team in my league and then delete the team and repeat.
Obviously I had to do this hundreds of times since I went from 1901 to 2001 gathering hitters and pitchers.
Now I'm wondering if doing so it created some kind of strain on the program.
Since when you delete a team all the players go to the free agent pool it did get pretty big at times and took awhile to delete them all as well.
I figure if I delete the free agents every couple teams it shouldn't be a problem though.
Thanks again for your help.

One thing you could have done... was to import the players from the Edit Free Agent screen... then you could have gotten only the players you wanted.... (although you may have had to check the birthdates and normalize the players ages)

Thanks Scott. I am not sure why I thought this way would be easier but I have since started doing it through the free agent import player section and it is much easier by far.
Do you know why some of the players stats come up blank though? 90% seem to import just fine, but the odd few import with no stats and horrible batting ratings for the player.
Not sure if it's random or not but a couple of the players who imported that way for me were Larry Walker, Ken Griffey Jr, Mike Piazza and Kevin Michell.
All the other stats for them were correct, name, position, birthdate, but no stats and the batting ratings were all in the 1's and 2's.

Try using the database here, 4.5 version about mid-way on the screen.

Also be careful what year you select to impor the player from... if you select the players first season they may not be developed to the level that you wanted them at.
