Well, I've been waiting on the edge of my seat for this one since it was announced, I suppose I can wait a few months more (if I don't die of an expectation-induced heart attack)

The game IS currently being worked on and when we have details to share we most certainly will.

chill out. just chill out

Ya know, Fall is an awful long period of time, and we're still 5 weeks away from the 1st day of Fall. Plus the fact that Fall runs until December 21st means there is plenty of time for ITP to come out on its "release date"

That is very true...and I sure hope you are right. I have just seen countless games being made and they have a release date set maybe for a few months away and they have showed very little info on the game. They end up delaying it until the next year or whatever. MOST of the time...this is the way it unfolds.

I'm just saying that companies these days just "guess" a release date. They don't care if they honor their word. See...a good way of doing it is like the Max Payne team did...they said..."when its finished"

That is totally respectable to me because they didn't set a date because they knew that if they did they would have to rush it out the door. or delay it. When they were close to completeing it...they THEN set the release date and the game came out at that date. THATS the way you conduct good business...and I have a lot of respect for those guys doing what they did.

I just have a bad feeling that ITP Baseball will not be out this year....I hope I'm wrong...

Can you:

1) start as a high school or college player?

2) do you "wait" to be drafted by a computer AI team, or can you assign yourself to a team?

3) is it possible to make the jump directly to majors, ala Pete Incaviglia?

4) Can you hold out and even sit out a year and be drafted by another team, ala J.D. Drew?

5) Is it possible to create your own logos and put your picture in the game?

6) can you continue as a coach or manager after your playing days are over?

7) do you control your destiny as far as being able to approve or deny trades to another team?

8) is the ability to import/export from OOTP still going to be included?

okay, that's it for now. No need to rush and answer these. As long as you let me know by 5:15pm cst 08/16/02, all will be fine. Otherwise I'll have to post what crappy customer service we have now.

Seriously, thanks for any news you can give us.

As I said before, when I have info and details to share then I will certainly let you guys know. Some of you guys need to relax, we don't and won't share every little detail about the progress of games.

We have been and will continue to be honest, "thank you", maybe some of you are immune to having "life" throw you a curve or force you to change things a bit.....but we aren't. This is not the case here but it does happen.

Anyway, when I have some news to share I will.

I completey understand that things happen that you need to deal with first..be it your personal life or whatever...you should allow for this in advance though. Simply do not say a game will be out at a certain time unless you know you can get it out at that time. Now granted....saying "Fall 2002" helps you out a lot because it can be anytime during the fall....that was a good move...I just hope it will be out then.

Yep...I know you have..and its much appreciated....but if January 2003 rolls around and there is still no "Inside The Park Baseball"....then you have lied to every fan here....ans sunk to the same level as EA Sports has.

Every little detail? We don't know crap about the game. I mean I can write a One Paragraph Document saying what a game will be like...but then after that never intend on actually making it.

I have seen this done so many times it isn't even funny.

I'm sure you guys are working hard on it...but can we have at least SOME details about whats going on in the game development? Much like what IGN did with the SWAT:Urban Justice "Developers Diary" where they would update what they were doing to the game at that time.

That really isn't much to ask....and you can't say you don't have enough time to do that...because with 4000 posts on this messageboard...I'm sure time is not really a problem.

I will give you an update from "my" perspective, I have done and will continue to do alot of research on the project, from interviews, to getting details from key people, to brainstorming some on my own.

I honestly cannot give out alot of details but to this point this is what my side of the project has involved. Many, though not all of this info has been passed on - plus I have more that I am trying to finalize and fine-tune before I send it in.

I know that it isn't much, but "now ya know"....

I sincerely hope that statement is a joke......

First off, EA Sports makes very good games. Would you rather have .400 release an unfinished, bug-riddled game? Or would you rather wait a little longer and have them complete and release a kick-ass game? If they have to delay it, oh well. These guys work hard, and I'd much rather have a finished product as opposed to an unfinished one.

People are always complaining about game release dates, and it makes me sick. If you don't have any other games to play while you wait for ITP, I feel very sorry for you.

If I were a company, I wouldn't ever even give any release dates. That way people can't complain when deadlines aren't met. I'd just say something like "We're working on Inside the Park Baseball. We'll finish it as soon as we can." And that would be it.

I disagree....I think their games are pure crap.

Did you even read my posts? I don't think you did. My God at least understand my points before you respond.

I can wait...hell...I can wait for years....but DO NOT set a release date and lead people on. I have no problem waiting for games....that has nothing to do with points. So try reading my posts next time.

Be that as it may...it still would be lying to the fans....and thats all I am saying.

I'll tell you what i am sick of...people getting on this messageboard and sucking up to the developers. My God it runs rampant here. THAT makes me sick.

**shakes head**

Thats what I have been saying this whole time....READ.

Thank you Steve..I appreciate you at least giving what your role is...

I mean put yourself in our perspective Steve....I mean here we are...we have ZERO information about the games progress....the date is set for "Fall 2002" yet there is not ONE preview on it...not a screenshot...hell not even a feature list.

I mean seriously....what do you expect? What would you be thinking in our situation if you didn't know, and have contact, with the development team?
