1983 Pittsburgh Pirates Open in GABL

GABL(www.goldenageofbaseball.com) is an OOTP5 historic league currently in it's 7th season. You must own OOTP5 to join, but it is a FREE download now. The Pittsburgh Pirates have opened up. The Pirates have been among GABL's downtrodden for most of the 6 year history of the league. They compete in the NL East where the big spending Philadelphia Phillies reside. The Pirates do have hope on the horizon as a number of years of high draft choices have given them a very nice farm system. 21 year old 1B-Andres Gallaraga, 18 year old Jose Canseco, 2nd year 2B Steve Sax, 22 year old SP-Ron Darling, 18 year old SP-Kenny Rogers, and 1983 1st round draft choice 24 year old Teddy Higuera and 2nd rd. pick C-Joe Oliver highlight the youth movement. The Pirates are deep in pitching, led by 2 time Cy Young winner Fernando Arroyo, John Candeleria, Pascual Perez, Scott McGregor, Ed Whitson and Steve Trout. On offense the Buccos are led by an aging Reggie Jackson who has 441 HR's. They're a bit of a reclamation project, but with good management they aren't that far off. Financially they should be profitable or near profitable this year. Pirates are full, thanks for looking. The Cardinals now have opened up. You can view the team at the same link. Looks like this will be the last team open for a while.
