Oh, Please No (NOT Bonds Related)
So, I was wondering if this Matsui injury domino effect is happening everywhere or just in the Twins market.
All I have heard since the injury is Hunter, Stewart or Lew Ford mentioned in trade talks with the Yankees. Anyone else hearing this trade talk, or is it just Minnesota media speculation? |

Here in LA we don't have any CF'ers worth mentioning in trade talks so we're pretty immune to these rumors.

I was watching sportscenter, and they were throwing names out there to Steve Phillips to see the likelihood of the Yanks trading for any of them. Torii and Stewart were two of those names. Others mentioned were Griffey, Delucci, and Sanders. There were a few names closer to Griffey/Hunter/Stewart level that I can't remember right now. Phillips said he can't see the Yankees having a package that would net them Torii, and probably not Stewart either. I think they just threw the names out there becuase good outfielders + struggling team = trade rumors.

Buster Olney has Bobby Abreu mentioned as a possible replacement.

I've heard the Twins mentioned up here as well with mostly Hunter's name being mentioned.
However I also heard it would be difficult to get someone now as most teams are not out of the race yet. |

With Griffey off the DL, there's a chance maybe Austin Kearns could be available in a trade.

Send them Stewart. His rainbow throws from left field are killing me. He's also pretty much done offensively. We can play Ford or Kubel or White in left, now that Cuddyer has a hold on right field. |

A trade would be good for the Twins
The Indians are younger and better and the Sox just plain better. They do not have the money for a quick rebuild, might as well trade away what they have (and is not working) and go younger and try rebuilding through the farm system. |

I doubt the Yankees make a move to replace Matsui.

Torii Hunter is too overpaid anyway. Might as well dump him on the Yankees.

Sheff is due back in almost a week. if anything, Mitch Jones is hitting well down in AAA. maybe he'll get a short-term callup. im going to murder Money Bags if he forces Cashman to trade Hughes for an over-age, over-paid, under-performer.
