Sounds in the game

Just wondering what 'new' sounds might be in the new version.

Any chance there will be periodic sounds of the ball hitting the mitt, foul ball sounds, etc? Might get too repetitive on every pitch but once and awhile would add to the realism IMO.

Any other new sounds??

The new version will not have sound, this will be added in a future version.

Sounds. Bah. Give us 2D graphics instead.

If you're playing pre-1947 American baseball, then the All-American Mod (a namefiles/ethnicites/nation/cities file pack) is for you.

Although thoughtfully constructed ambient sound can create a great game atmosphere.

I agree with the request for 2D graphics, but there is no reason why both cannot be implemented at the same time. See Football Manager for a good example.

pbp

I would really like to have pbp in live sound. Don't know how difficult it will be to do, but real announcers calling the game would be great.

I had a game like that once. Nice one called "Old Time Baseball." Had two announcers who called the game. Really cool for a while. But after hearing the exact same phrases pronounced the exact same way more than a hundred times it got really old. Finally I just turned the announcer option off.

You want to watch a movie, then watch a movie.

The sound is really just extraneous. I'd rather the time be spent making the gameplay better.

Agreed with the primary sentiment. The sound just gets cheesy, boring and stupid after about 30 seconds and I won't miss it at all.

In the real world such things are known as "distractions."

No sound. It's a pointless waste of resources.

30 whole seconds? Wow, you have a lot more patience with it than I do.
