I wanna be an assitant GM :)

I'm looking to add a role to my OOTP'n GMing. I'm not looking to get a full time job - but think it would be cool to be an AGM.

If your interested in having someone else interested in your team, and to bounce ideas off - give me a shout.

I'm semi-experienced. Been playing for 3 yrs. or so - all online stuff. And have had decent success - no WS wins, but multiple playoff appearances, and always financially responsible .

The ISBL > http://www.eliteplayersleague.com/isbl/ as run with this idea a couple of times the Cardinals used to have two GM's and I think the A's at the moment also have 2 GM's.

Just to be clear ... I'm not looking to make a 2 GM team. I don't want to be a Co-GM. Just wanna be a regular different perspective. Line of thought is simply that we could learn from each other.

co owner

one idea might be for an owner who had tight schedule to have alt or "gm" to take over for short time.
Believe new version supports this.

my league (link in sig) uses an owner and coach system for all of its teams, if youre interested visit the website and IM me on AIM at Heggis27, the website is currently being transferred to another server, so the forms to join arent working....Im usually on at all times, or at least away.

DW, did you have any luck finding an Asst GM position?

I'm interested to know if someone took you in, cause I could see myself in that position as well, I like analyzing trades but I don't have time to commit to another league.

The MBBA could certainly find AGM opportunities for anyone looking for them. We've done this several times in the past with success.

Yeah, I've had some luck. Have had a couple offers, and still mulling things over - and giving the board a little longer to get to it. I posted on a weekend, and some people may hit this board up while at work - so I thought I'd give it a couple more days.

Assistant GM - with Zero responsibility.

I'm just wanting to be a guy that has your teams best interest in mind, and provide a different perspective. Just a hey, "what do you think about this trade or that, hey - you think this spec is gonna pan out, - you think player A should start, or player B, etc." I'm not even sayin' I would want to be "involved" in every decision, just a fresh perspective.

Line of thought is that people see things differently, and I'd assume we'd both learn from each other.

Well this got me thinking of some funky ideas for my team. I run the New York Yankees in SO49. We will be starting the 1969 season soon and it would be cool to have a manager manage my team lineups/minors, have a scout look at other teams and scout the draft for me before any picks come up, etc, and maybe an assistant GM to work with manager and scout to fill holes in my team. I would have final approval of any decisions

Who would like to take on a job in the Yankees organization?

They weren't Co-GM's memory serves me right, the Cards one GM exported did line ups and had the final say the other was kind of an advisor, the A's on the other hand have two GM's one who is experienced the other who is new to the game and is learning from the other GM.

If there is an experienced GM out there willing to add an AGM role (along the lines outlined by DougWyatt), I would be keen to try it out and see what I can learn. I have been experimenting with some pretty extreme rebuilding experiments in one league in particular (SSSBL). Hit me up on AIM (aewin1969) if you are interested.

FYI - I have played solo for two years and been in on-line leagues for about 6 months now.
