MLB TV won't let you cancel?

I didn't sign up for MLB TV this year but they automatically renewed me from last year. I have contacted the e-mail they provided multiple times and have spent hours on hold with the number they gave with no answer. There doesn't seem to be any way to cancel this. I think I will have to call up my credit card company and dispute the charges but I was wondering if anybody has been able to successfuly cancel this year.

Yeah i signed up for it this year and it said they would renew without my say so next season so all I'll do to get round the problem that your having is cancel my card and get a new one, only takes a day or so for the new one to come through so be worth it rather than MLB screwing me.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

If you can get through to customer service you can cancel. However, I did find this practice of "automatic renewal" on an annual subscription to be slighty dubious. I did leave a complaint with them but since I liked the product I didn't cancel (although I was tempted).

I DO find this practice to be a bit weasely though, but should I be surprised since this is Bud Selig's MLB?

Thanks guys. It looks like that is what the thread Draft Dodger posted said too. The problem is that it seems nearly impossible to get through. I have called and been put on hold for more than an hour twice now and usually I just get a busy signal. I will try once more tomorrow if I have no luck I will file a dispute with the credit card company. Ufff, in the amount of time I have spent trying to cancel this thing I could have probably earned a hundred bucks.

Is this the number you called?

By Phone:
Customer Support toll-free number: 866-800-1275 Hours of Operation (in season):
Monday - Friday 9am - 12:30am
Saturday 12 Noon - 12:30am
Sunday 12pm - 10pm

They keep this well buried in their web site.

I was probably going to order the mlb.tv yearly package tonight or tomorrow. I guess I will call them first to make sure I can cancel for next season if I want. If not, screw them...

Try calling either early in the morning or at night. I've got through last week a couple of times in the evening.

I called late afternoon one day, admittedly before the season started, and still had to wait 30 minutes to get through to someone. Then I got through to someone apparently hard of hearing/thinking who didn't understand my email address even when I spelt it (both regularly and phonetically).

I'm sick of these sites that make it so easy to sign up, then make you jump through a million hoops to cancel.

I got that email and replied with an email that clearly stated that they did NOT have authority to renew. So far they haven't, but I noticed my subscription is active, so who knows??

ha! maybe they will be like the cable company and just leave it active because they are too lazy/incompetent to shut off your access.

Same for fake Audio

I signed up for their fake audio last year. Same deal here. I sent an email, and it took two weeks to get a response. The response was "we're fowarding it the roper deparment.

It's real easy to file online with the Better Business Bueru. They should be able to take care of it for you.

Except that the BBB doesn't actively *do* anything. They're just a complaint index. I think they once in awhile have a part in class action suits, but don't count on it this time. Heh.

I recently had experience with the BBB as I filed a complaint against my old ISP (not to mention criminal charges). While there isn't much, legally, they can do, they are an advocacy group, and you'll get further using them than on your own I believe.

You write by yourself, they don't care. Get them involved, and there will be a permanent record of the complaint. And yes, it's very easy to file a complaint online.

You can always cancel it... you just have to try and get through to their customer service representatives.

That can be easy, but sometimes you get on hold for a half hour or longer. I have had each experience, but I know I'll never buy their service again.

Why they make it easy to sign up, but incredibly hard to cancel, sounds like bad business to me.
