In today's news: Isaac Bruce re-signed for three years with the Rams and Sam Madison has joined the Giants for four years.

Alexander signing is no surprise. There were some teams out their drooling over the idea of him being on the market but I sure can't imagine a scenario in which Seattle wouldn't lock him down.

Not a signing but the rumor on Ramsey and the Jets is that the Jets will give the skins a 6th in this years draft and a conditional pick based on performance next year.

Some re-signings before the start of free agency:

WAS re-signed Rock Cartwright to a four-year contract, but the final two can be voided.

TB re-signed Mike Alstott to a one-year deal.

CAR re-signed DeShaun Foster to a three-year deal (he'll be injured for a total of two of the years), worth $14.5 million.

GB re-signed Aaron Kampman to a long-term deal.

I'm so glad the Rams resigned Bruce. Even if he's not the player he used to be, it wouldn't be the St. Louis Rams without Bruce.

The Broncos inked Warren for six years. Thirty-six million and another ten in bonuses, apparently.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2364298

I dunno. Warren played quite well, and I was pleasantly surprised considering Denver didn't give much to the Browns for him. Certainly worth the fourth rounder, but.. unless this deal is backloaded a bit I'm iffy on keeping any defensive tackle for more than 3-4 years before reassessing his performance.

According to that article, he was the 14th best unrestricted free agent available (per ESPN's rankings). The question I would asked based on raw numbers is: why?

His best season was his rookie year in 2001 with Cleveland, and he's steadily regressed every single season since. Thirty-six million dollars seems like a boat load of money for a guy who hasn't even recorded 20 tackles in either of the past two seasons.

Yeah, somewhere in that ball park.

Man, I wish I could sign on with some team as a special teamer or something. That's all I'd need: $300,000 per tackle. I'm sure I could get at least one over the course of sixteen games.

The best job in the world is that 11th or 12th man on an NBA team, the NBA minimum is like 1 mil or something outrageous. Unless of course you're an incredibly talented basketball player, then being Kobe, AI, or Lebron would be pretty sweet too I guess.

The Panthers have signed defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu, which should help give them one of the best defensive front fours in the league.

The Browns have also signed Joe Jurevicious, though I'm having trouble finding terms of the deal. If anyone can help me out with that, please do.

Also, I'm going to start trying to organize the signings by team alphabetically to make it a little easier to look at (see: post 1).

Jurevicius got 4 years. The only reference to money I can find is a blog saying it was worth about $10M.

I'll plug that in and change it if I see it somewhere a bit more official. Thanks.
