A "realistic" online league

I know that these types of online leagues are hard to come by, but I was wondering if there was a league out there that was trying to stick as close to realistic as possible? What I mean is not all the changeover from team to team and not so many trades, or stuff like that.

Isn't high turnover realistic in today's MLB? Just look at the Marlins. It seems that every team has a few new starters each year.

If you are looking for a good league, take a look at www.outlawuniverse.net/obl pretty great league in my humble opinion.

Check out the MBBA. I think we're a pretty realistic league in terms of detail.

I've said this to my owners and I beleive I've said it here in the passed, but there is no such thing as a "realistic" online league. Any league that strives to be "realistic", or considers themselves "realistic" is flat out lying to themselves. No fictional league is realistic, because the fact that you're not using the same teams and the same players that the MLB uses, makes it "un-realistic". Any league that enforces trading rules, stating that no team can make so-and-so amount of trades is not realistic, because guess what, the MLB doesn't have such a rule. Online leagues are better off doing that they think works for them rather than trying to pick and choose what the MLB does and turn them into guidelines.

actually just the reverse it true. Every league is realistic. Because every league is real. Now, no league can be a sythentic MLB. Why because it is a game. Noone's lively hood is based on the league. Has nothing to do with trade rules or anything else.

If you look at it that way, sure, I agree with you. All leagues have their own "OOTP Universe" of sorts, which usually takes it's own turns as the league goes on. But I'm referring to the leagues that consider themselves "realistic" in the way that they tend to take things out of the MLB, stamp it as a rule to be "realistic" when in fact, the rule they just set up isn't realistic by any means of the imagination. For example, I've seen a couple of leagues that established rules that say Team A cannot make more than 5 trades in a given season, because doing more trades wouldn't be "realistic". There is no such rule like that in MLB (as far as I know), which makes the rule unrealistic.

(edit)
I didn't want to hijack this thread at all. I wish the thread starter the very best in whatever league he decides to join.

No problem. After seeing what you guys thing, I will admit that I have to agree that there is no such thing as a realistic league. I have been in leagues where there would be fifteen player trades though and to me that is a little unrealistic. That's just my opinion.

Unrealistic Trades

Despite OOTP's continued development and increased realism, the decision to trade a player in RL is much more complex than in OOTP. The existence of agents and special contract clauses to name two.

My biggest peeve (and it seems to happen a lot) is that a new GM will execute large numbers of trades and then disappear, often leaving behind a very bad team.
