Coaches

I invested a huge amount of money in buying the best hitting coaches and pitching coaches available. How do they affect my players??

I also spent alot on my AAA manager and my players don't seem to be getting any better. Are my minor league players supposed to be getting "better"?? And how often does all of this happen?

Thank you for the help. This is a great community!!

It should help both your pitching and hitting perform better and "possibly" increase in ratings. There is no set pattern and I am not aware of any measurable way to you "how much or how often" this will happen.

Your minor leaguers have a greater chance of improving, but again there are no "sure things", they could get worse, but they could also get better.

For the last 20 seasons or so, I've been letting the AI hire my coaches for me to make the game a little bit more of a challenge. What I've noticed is that established, star quality players generally perform well regardless of who your hitting or pitching coach is. Where a good coach seems to make the most difference is with the average players. I've seen alot of players that are .250 15 HR type guys become .280 25 HR players with a brilliant coach.

As far as minor league managers go, I don't think players will develop that much quicker with a great manager. Where the difference seems to be, however, is in the increases or decreases in talent. You don't seem to see many players lose their talent with a brilliant manager.

I have to agree with the previous poster. I don't think there are many dramatic changes anywhere, but that an excellent or brilliant coach makes a difference in helping along the "average" talent players. Those guys that you see your scouts rate as "Never be more than a .500 pitcher" or "He may surprise and become a starting left fielder" have a better chance of living up to that instead of entirely flopping out.
