Western Hemisphere Baseball League (fictional, talent only) Needs Three
We've got a few openings in the league that we need to fill. We're inching up on the All-Star break and trade deadline, so now would be a good time to sign up, assess your team's situation and make any immediate changes that you'd like.
Our homepage is here: http://whbl.net/index.php The html leaguesite page is here: http://www.whbl.org/leaguesite/ We're a fantasy player league with 5 1/2 seasons under our belt and a great core group of owners, most of which have been with us for quite some time. We use Talent Ratings only, Catobase, a CMS-based website, and some other fun stuff to make things as deep and interactive as possible. We sim on a M-W-Sat schedule, using a 7-8-7-8-7-8 game rotation. We have a very lively forum and some fantastic storytellers in the Team Reports forum. The backstory of the league is below, and makes for an interesting jumpstart for anyone looking to get in: http://www.whbl.net/history.html The rules are below: http://www.whbl.net/rules.html The three open teams are: Quito Mosquitos ![]() Rio de Janeiro Panthers ![]() Santo Domingo Dragons ![]() Rio and Santo Domingo are both bad teams with phenomenal minor league systems, and Quito is on the cusp of being a contender, with a solid core and a good minors system as well. If you like what you see, but want to change your logo, you're free to do so. There are a ton of fantastic logo designers here on the OOTP boards, or you can design your own. If you're interested, either shoot me a PM, or head on over to the forums, register, and claim your team in the General Discussion forum. We'd love to have you if you're willing to put in the time and have a little fun. -E

Rio has been claimed!
Santo Domingo and Quito are still up for grabs. Get in before the trade deadline if you want to take full control of your situation. -E

Been apart of several leagues including this one, and this is hands down the most active and most fun I've had. Great for rookies and vets alike.

One of the most active and well run leagues on the 'net. Eric runs a tight ship, and I don't think we've ever missed a sim.
Also, as was previously mentioned, there is a section for team reports that you can write articles on your team if you are so inclined. If you like to analyze stats, a very deep and detailed spreadsheet is released by one of our GM's every couple of sims. And all player awards; All-stars, post season awards, etc. are voted on by the GM's. It definately helps to get to know the league. Especially with 32 teams! |
