Expansion Openings Coming to WBL..

Hello to the OOTP community, my name is Matt and I am Co-commissioner of the Westwood Baseball League. We just finished our second season since the rebirth of the league and we currently find ourselves at somewhat of a dilemma. Back in the days of OOTP 5, Steve York was able to find a great core group of managers whom many today continue to be apart of this running league. However, as certain GM’s could no longer keep with us, we were forced to find new owners. Many of these owners seemed to unfortunately wreck their team rather than help. I am returning to the board in search for serious members who are looking to join a fun, competitive league with some great people.

Currently, the league is narrowing out certain owners in order to make some changes. Our current idea is to contract an undecided number of teams and then through an expansion draft up the number of teams back to somewhere near the original number (Most likely 2 to 4 less teams than now). Following the creation of teams, we will likely realign divisions in order to create more friendly rivalries between managers in order to up intensity/activity.

Once realignment takes place, we would enter the filling up of expansion teams through an expansion draft. These expansion teams will be able to carry (2-5 players from original team/undecided # yet) and then be allowed to pick players from the remaining teams and free agents. All other teams will be able to protect X amount of Active roster players and prospects.

I realize that this is not an easy task but we feel it is necessary in order to get the league back to what it once was. Full details and exact numbers are not completely finalized, but if you are interested in possibly taking over an expansion team PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

The WBL is saying goodbye to the Oakland A's, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, and the San Fran Giants in favor for 2 new franchises. We are about to enter an expansion draft in which these 2 new franchises will be able to fill holes through a draft of current teams. Come join now in order to decide who to protect from the team you may want to take over.
