1961 Results, 1962 Results, 1963 Results

Luke Appling was elected to the RL HOF by the BBWAA in 1963. The following players were elected by the VC: Red Faber, Burleigh Grimes, Tim Keefe, Heinie Manush, John Ward.

All players who received at least 5% of votes on the last ballot were retained for this ballot. I also added players who became eligible for the ballot in 1964 (retired after 1958 season).

All players not receiving 5% of votes on this ballot will be removed. Also, all players who have been retired for 20 years fall off this ballot if not elected.

Vote for as many or as few as you want. Max votes are 10.

HOF Standard: 50 is considered an average HOF'er. 100 is max.

PLEASE NOTE:
Players who lost service time to the war are denoted with: WWII

Note: OPS+ and ERA+ are listed for all players now. 100 is considered league average. The higher the # the better the player. This lets you see how they did in relation to the players of their generation while also letting you compare their dominance of the league to players from different eras.

Here's all HOF'er OPS+ for reference:

this is probably the thinest HOF ballot yet. Did we lose a lot of folks or something?

4 got elected & Bowden went to the VC. Two newbies fell off, but a few of them do every year. Basically we've done a good job of getting most people in who need it.

Like the RL HOF, which has a thin ballot this year, this is a chance for near-miss TWB'ers to get in. Next year's ballot is huge.

Yuck. If Bowden doesn't get in, Stuart certainly doesnt.

No votes for me.

I guess I am a little more stingy with my votes than some of you. IMO the Hall should be the best of the best at their positions.

well I will explain mine:

Ted Staurt - the premier glove of the 40's at SS. Ask JT, he'll pimp this guy for hours. His bat was average, but then again so was Ozzie Smith's
Al Arsenault - good solid guy for almost twenty years. Has the totals to squeak in
Maurice MIsisca - The cornerstone of the phillies rise to power in the 40's, this is one of the guys you didn't want to see. I know this name was cursed many times in Cincy
Genarito Nunez - look at the stats, if the war wasnt' on he'd be a 3000 hit man.
Luther Ormiston - Misisca for the Detroit Tigers, Made up one of the most potent offenses in TWB history in the 50's as part of the Tiger juggarnaunt
Emil Pelto - You coudl give a case for this guy being borderline, but I always though he was decent. And he made my acquisition of Betters so much easier
Lonny Arrendale - The heart of the Phillie offense in the late 40's. How I both admired, and loathed this guy. He even went to Chicago and got them a pennant in 1950.
Corky Stell - The staff ace in Chicago, then went to be the #1 in Detroit during their magical run, noting win after win like a machine during his tendure there. Many teams hated to see Stell, Andrews, and Ulrich as the pitchers that they were facing...........oh.....and he stopped in Cincy for a year too.

Not unless he was going to get 568 hits in two years. Considering he got 154 the year before he left and 180 the year he returned, he was likely to still be over 200 hits short.
