Coincidence or Cheating?
I am in a very good league. The league started back in February of 2005 and is still going now late in the 2010 season, still very active because of the great commish. A few years ago, he invented a create-a-player idea where you have so many points to create your player. They were all created as prospects and their overall points where assessed by how old they were. The Commish is GM of the Texas Rangers. He created a player with ratings of 10-9-4-8-4 talent. The player developed fairly rapidly most likely due to him having selected a higher age (22).
This year is his Rookie season. Right now, his ratings are 10-9-5-7-4 overall with 10-9-4-8-4 talent. Amazingly enough, he is hitting .462 on the year with 5 HR and is basically a run-away for the ROY even though there are some pretty good rookies out there. Month-by-month, the player has never hit lower than .415... April: .575 May: .464 June: .423 July: .457 August: .415 When the players were created, if a person wanted 10-2-10-10-3, he would give them 90-10-90-90-20 (The lowest possible number that would round up). I fear his player has talent/ratings in the upperds of the 100s or possibly even 200s when the rest of the players are stuck with only 90. The player: http://nflnow.net/molina/p3431.html His BA on the year, .462, is 122 points higher than the 2nd best hitter (Todd Helton, 37 yrs, .340) I have run many solo leagues, and I usually have to get my guys contact up to 200 to hit .500 and this was in a league where all of the pitchers had no stuff (usually around 30-60 stuff). I wondering if I caught a cheat or if this is just a rare, odd, amazing coincidence.

Even at 100 contact, it'd be extremely unlikely to see a batter hit .400. Given that the pitching talent seems to be generally okay (6-8), the batter would have to be achieving about double his ratings to hit as well as he is...
I think you may have caught a cheat. In a league I play in, we have a player named Jesse Gulick Who's talent is way above 100 (as you can see) and he hasn't hit above .400 for 5 years. Also, a better example to the kind of talent this Molina guy may have is in this player Richard Meraz. His overall contact is 161 and he's only hit above .400 three times in his 9 year career.

I would probably be looking for another league... This guy is bragging about how many 100 win seasons he is chalking up, thats not a good sign for a commish.... His screen name is the same as this player "Molina" and just coincidentally this guy is the greatest player in the league... hmmmm
