Tejada woudl be a great addition to the Cubs, filling the SS spot better than Nomar and with the Cubbies friendly confines and his nice power storke, I think he could hit the 40HR mark playing there. Prior would make the Red Sox's rotation quite sweet indeed, and playing in Wrigley, he's used to the compact parks, which shoudl him him out nicely. Boston should't get any nasty surprises here. Manny.....well....umm.......ya ONly bad thing if this goes through is that it shows that pissing and moaning about getting traded works.

This would be amazingly cool. The type of trade people only imagine. Thats why I dont think it will happen.

There's no way this will happen. The Sox can't give up Manny at 17mil for a pitcher that may have continuous injury problems. Also, with the O's giving Tejada and getting Manny, the prospect price tag could be huge.
My guess is that none of the three mentioned players move anywhere.

The rumor I heard last last night didn't involve Manny--was just Prior for Tejada.
I don't think the Cubs would be at all stupid to take or at least consider this. |

Are the Sox getting exclusive rights to Frank Jobe in that deal too? I eagerly await their pick up of Darren Dreifort and Tim Spooneybarger.

From what I've heard, the Cubs also want Eric Bedard and an OF prospect named Markaikis (sp?). We're going to need more than just Tejada coming our way if we let Prior go.
Tejada for Prior would be devestating, but Tejada + a potentially good starter + a really nice OF prospect for Prior, would be worth considering. |

The Red Sox have no role to play in this deal. A deal b/w the Cubs and Orioles is possible (though Baltimore asked for Pie and Chicago asked for Bedard, two very good prospects).

The one thing Prior has on Tejada is age, being five years younger. That said, I would make that trade as swiftly as possible, if I were the Cubs and Baltimore seemed agreeable. Wouldn't want the O's to regain their senses before the deal went down.

Tejada... .349 OBP, .304 AVG in 2005 (Not much plate discipline). I'd MUCH rather have someone like Bobby Abreu if Prior was in trade talks

This is the rumored trade according to http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/
Cubs receive Miguel Tejada and Erik Bedard for Mark Prior, Rich Hill, and Corey Patterson. I like it, although what happens to Cedeno?

I'm very much in favor of this deal. Prior is not likely to live up to his promise and Tejada is a stud.

The Cubs need more than Tejada in order to compete in the NL Central. IMO, Prior is much more valuable to them being in that division.

If the Orioles trade for Manny Ramirez, I'm quitting being a baseball fan. Seriously.
If they trade for Prior, well, whatever. It's not like we're going to finish above fourth place in the division anyway.

Why? Manny is one of the top 5 hitters in baseball, is an absolutely fun player to hear interviewed and to see play, and has a hawt wife. I can't see why a team wouldn't want him.
Now, I can understand not wanting to pay for him, or thinking his defense sucks, etc., but its not like he tried to run over kids on Halloween
