Official What NFL team gets 1st draft pick? (aka Leinart)

Its about the time to start thinking about what teams seasons are over and who is going to get the first pick this year?

1. Texans- David Carr has nothing going being sacked 46 times this season. Is David Carr for real? Or Matt Leinart the Answer?

2. Saints- Injury to McAllister does not help them much but does aaron brooks have what it takes to keep this team from getting the number one pick?

3. Packers- Likely they will not get the number one pick but have had many injuries and may decide to go elsewhere after Favre retires then Rodgers?

4. Ravens- Obviously have no Quarterback at all Boiler is not working Wright not working will they be able to suck enough to get into the #1 pick?

5. Titans- Mcnair seems like he is towards the end of his era. Will he be handing over the youngest team in the league to the young qb?

6. Cardinals- Denny green doesnt know who his starter is half the time and McCown is not the answer in Arizona and Warner is only a temporary.

7. Jets- Pennington has shown he has not recovered from his injury and Bollinger does not seem to be a solution. Will they end up with Leinart?

8. 49ers- Finally uncertain whether Smith has what it takes in this league or not they have Cody Pickett playing right now it really saddens me to say that they have a chance to get the #1 pick again.

So who you think is gonna get the number 1 pick?

I said the Texans, but it isn't Carr's fault (that he's struggling). It's the big men that won't block for him.

EDIT: I believe it would be a mistake for the Texans to draft Leinart. Unless they get an O-line, they'll have the same problems, though with a different QB.

My guess is that whoever ends up with the top pick this season, trades it.

The 49ers won't give up on Smith. For some reason I see Arizona getting Leinart.

I agree with andymac's statement that I modified slightly to match what I agree with. I'm not sure they will though. Too much public pressure to draft the franchise's "savior" even if the best player in the draft isn't that player.

Earlier in the season I thought the first pick would be Reggie Bush, especially if a team already has a QB they want to go with. But Bush has struggled a bit lately it seems (per his standards), so not sure anymore.

Another dynamic to the whole situations is whether or not Vince Young comes out this year.

Agreed but i see that new coach coming and i believe Carr may be on his way out. I don't think he is the right fit for the Texans but that doesnt necesarrily mean that Leinart is the right fit either.

Noone will be the right fit there if they don't start blocking.

Niners will probably get the first pick and either trade down or take Bush

yo tambien...

mostly cause Im fairly sure itll be Houston and you don't draft an OL with the first pick...they need to trade to pick up 2 1st rounders or at least a mid to high 1st round and a pick or 2 between the 2nd and 4th rounds. They already got their franchise QB in Carr and they need the offensive line for him or a RB to be able to do anything.

If they do wind up with it I would venture to guess them taking Marooney from Minnesota (highly unlikely, but my outside opinion) or Reggie Bush.

Smiths' contract is gauranteed, so unless he stiffs beyond redemption I would betcha that the woeful 49ers will try to trade the pick for multiple choices.

The Texans are by far the worse team in the league.

With the Texans' O-Line as awful as it is, I fail to see how a quarterback that can run (as Carr can) is not a good fit.

He's a good fit. He's not the problem.

49ers will stick with Smith. The only reason he isn't playing is because he is hurt. As soon as he's healthy he'll be back on the field for them. If they get the #1 pick they need to take Bush. They really need offensive weapons and he's the best in the draft.
