Post Highlights from the 2/10 chat

Most of these are based off of impressions, and as a result may not actually occur. (Sorry no transcript this time)
  • OOTP4 still on track for a March 1 release
  • Beta has progressed, now small groups are working out the various aspects of the game
  • Financials are good, TV deals are still being worked on
  • Player History tracks, draft position, trades, releases, free agency, all star games, milestones, and player injuries, (and maybe more!)
  • Importing Version 3 leagues seems to lead to middling player ratings (for clutch, etc.)
  • Not sure if career minor league stats will be saved
  • Player fatigue acts to cut down on the PT pretty well. (Average starter gets 145 games, some get 162, and catchers a little less)
  • Argue Call option can result in ejection, but other effects still mysterious
  • Effects of hitter type ratings are still a bit unsure to some testers
  • Picture name formats now fname_lname.bmp
  • Free Agency is now much tougher, some guys won't talk to you at all from the start, computer and you have time for multiple offers, 30 day period.
  • Fan Interest based on Market loyalty and team performance (may show bandwagon fans)
  • Fictional Set of player images (by me) is done, work is ongoing for real player image sets and historical player image sets.
  • Photos are said to add much to the game!
  • No real show stopping bugs in last beta build... but work is still on going!
So who else is psyched for the release?

(Steve/Markus delete anything as you see fit)

Februrary is the shortest month, and it's still too long.

I am the basketball coach at a Division III college and February is the busiest month of the year for us. Our conference tournament in two weeks and recruiting is at the most important point, and February is still way too long. Can't wait until March 1. Sounds like things are progressing well.

Well, I guess pretty soon I will be a OOTP man instead of a STB one.

Its amazing.....Im drooling uncontrollably.

I actually used to think that Baseball Mogul was the best and OOTP2 sucked. (OOTP3 wasnt out yet)

I was a huge Mogul fan....I bought the Original, the 99 version, and the 2000 version. They were all almost IDENTICAL with very little new features....and minor ones at that.

Then they were about to release Mogul 2002 and it had pretty much no new features plus they went to points...I said enough is enough and gave OOTP3 a whirl....Ive never looked back. I will never own another Text BAsed Baseball Sim other than the OOTP series....unless they go to a point system too

Dokken Rules! I mean the band not you. You may rule too but I don't really know you. I may have to dig out the old Dokken cassettes tonight. It has been quite awhile.

Can't say I'm a fan, but back in the early 90's my older brother met and took some pictures with Dokken (back stage after a concert). well, that's my Dokken story

Now back to the thread. I CAN'T WAIT either!

Thumbs up

Speaking of Feb. I agree it is very busy for me too. I support all of our local basketball teams from Pee Wee on up. I have 2 daughters that play basketball. My oldest is a team that made the elite eight last year and they only lost one SR. They gained 3 Jr high All-District players.

We are in our District Tourney now. We won the conf with only one heart-braking loss.

We are the county champs.

We have begun our road to the Final Four!
