Inherited Pinch Runner Bug
Hi,
I just noticed an error in the game's tracking / stats of inherited runners....if a new reliever entering the game inherits a runner who is subsequently replaced by a pinch runner, and that runner eventually scores, the new reliever's ERA gets dinged instead of the previous pitcher who allowed the base runner in the first place..... ....I know this won't happen too often, but it just happened to Eric Gagne in my league & I can tell you he's pissed ;-) I'm using 6.5A. From what I can see the game handles inherited runners correctly, just so long as there's no pinch running involved. Apologies if this has already been noticed and reported before. George |

I remember getting involved in a discussion a little while back that got into this from unearned versus earned runs talk. That may have been lost in the recent forum crash, so good to see the information up again and supported completely independently of that or other earlier mention. This will probably will not be addressed in this last 6.5b patch, but it is still good to have noted again for future reference.

Hi gmo,
in this particular instance there were no errors during the innings, so this was definitely an earned run, it's just that it got attributed to the wrong pitcher...I guess the game engine is tracking the names of the runners & not the bases that are occupied at the time a reliever enters the game. Cheers George |
