OLS Leagues & Backups

An automated backup job will run daily on the OLS. for each league it will save the files that are inside the /httpdocs folder. It will also make a dump of the league's forum database if there is any. Both files will be saved in the league's root folder, and they will also be copied to another server. When you login using FTP, you should see both files. The file with the extension .tar.gz contains all the files. The other file with the extension .sql.gz contains the database dump.

- each league is responsible for the backup of their data. We help, but we don't guarantee for anything.
- download the files to be sure that you have a backup.
- test the files! Unzip them on your local computer with a ZIP program and check whether they are complete! Again, we guarantee for nothing! We're just starting a database dump, but we cannot be sure that it's complete - as seen on the OOTP Dev. server lately.
- check the files frequently. Is the size OK? Very small files indicate that the backup is not OK. Is the file date/time OK? Old files indicate that the backup is not running at all. Again, it's up to you to check the files.
