Need 3 for EL/SA (OOTP5)
The ELSA is a recreation of the 1940's and 1950's Eastern League and Southern Association. The teams and stadiums are historically accurate. The players are fictitious. The financial scheme is scaled down and unqiue. It is very possible to go from last place to a winning record and possibly a playoff spot in just one offseason.
The openings we have at this time are New Orleans, Wilkes-Barre, and Utica. New Orleans is a priority opening right now. They are 49-38, 5.5 games out of 1st, but 1.5 games ahead of Nashville for the final S.A. playoff spot. The Pelicans have a large cash reserve ($13.7M) Which leaves them over $9.3M to sign players down the stretch. Their payroll is #3 in the league behind Atlanta and Birmingham and their minor league system is 9th out of 16 teams. Wilkes-Barre is 35-53, 7th in the E.L. They are in the red in cash (-$1.2M) but are forecasted to make a profit of $1.1M as they have only the 9th highest payroll. Wilkes-Barre's minor league system is 7th of 16. Utica is a team that has recently had their only owner ever resign. They have never had a losing record, but are 35-51 this year, good only for 6th in the Eastern League. Utica has $381K in the bank and the 11th largest payroll in ELSA. They should turn a modest profit this year and they have needs in their minor leagues as it ranked 13th. New Orleans is now 54-45, just a half game behind Nashville for the last playoff spot with 39 games to play.
Wilkes-Barre is 42-58, 6th in the E.L. while Utica has fallen on hard times. They are 37-61 and in line for the #1 draft pick. Join today to either make a playoff run or turn around a franchise! OOTP5 is not a hard in stone necessity. File can be viewed in OOTP6 and moves made via E-mail and the forums. |

New Orleans has been filled!
Utica and Wilkes-Barre openings remain. With 18 games left, Utica would pick 2nd in the draft and Wilkes-Barre 5th! |
