Important Announcement: New Version Of Title Bout!

FUSION LABS LTD to take Title Bout Championship Boxing into the Retail Market

An agreement between Comp-U-Sports (who will now do business as Alpha Omega Games) and Fusion Labs LTD will result in Title Bout Championship Boxing going retail in both Europe and the United States before Christmas, 2005. An official announcement with all the details will be forthcoming in a special newsletter that will be going out soon to all prior owners of Title Bout Championship Boxing.

What is important for those of you who have been loyal Title Bout customers is that we, at OOTP, have not forgotten about you; nor have we forgotten about our promise of an upgrade path. The newsletter that you will be receiving within the next week will provide you with instructions on how to get your copy of the upcoming release of the next version of Title Bout. This offer, made only to our previous customers, will allow you to get the new game months in advance and at a heavily discounted price. The offer will be for a limited time only so look for it in your Email box soon!

Here are just a few of the highlights in the upcoming Title Bout release:

1. Complete history for all aspects of the boxing simulation. Look at a referee and you'll now see every fight in which he participated. Want to know every fighter in your boxing universe who has held the WBA Heavyweight title? Now you'll be able to find a linear trail at the click of a button.

2. Completely revised cut routines allow cuts to occur in over a dozen locations, each ranging from minor to severe and each having a different effect on the fighter.

3. Completely revised swelling routines that provide much more realism than ever before.

4. New strategies that will make the boxing simulation even more interactive: Protect a Cut, Take Round Off (to regain stamina)

5. The ability to switch styles round-by-round. You're a boxer/slugger? Now make the most effective use of your ability. Start out boxing and then turn slugger if you have your opponent ready to be taken out.

6. Group cut/paste/move. No longer will you have to work on fighters one at a time. If you want to move 5 or 10 or 100 fighters from one place to another, you can do it as a group.

7. New statistics and ways to view them: see the outcome of a fighter's last 5 bouts at a glance, similar to the way boxrec.com shows them, for example.

8. Fouls now can carry a benefit to the person who commits the indiscretion. Go low often enough and you might lose a point but sap so much endurance from the opponent that you end up winning the bout.

. . . look for a complete list of improvements, new features and more to appear on the OOTP website in the next few days.

This is very welcome and exciting news gentlemen, thank you!

One question, how well do TBCB 1 databases convert to the new version?

TB1 databases will convert to the new version automatically. Just copy the database folders to the TB2 /data directory and open them in TB2.
Known problems:
- no title history (since it's not been tracked in TB1)
- performance points will probably make problems because they are much higher values in TB2

Thanks Andreas:

If you mean that old title history will not be in the TBCB2 title tracking feature but old title fights will still be highlighted in the fighter's record I don't see that as much of a problem.

If I am imagining this correctly, performance point issues should level out and become a moot point over time - I would hope that the convertion will not create a problem that will exist for ever.

If those are the only issues, I will be thrilled! Thanks for the response and congratulations on the new release, I hope that you all will have a huge commercial success on your hands.

Christopher

Great news on the retail version .... more sales equals more versions of this game and also the long anticipated TBRP game.

Where is the role-play? I want a career-based boxing sim, not some replay garbage.

I don't want to get flamed but this won't have a career mode in it will it? Where you can have a stable of fighters, ect and then track every fighters history(even not your own - but everyones) , wins, loses, draws, DQs, KOs, NCs, ....

Will it also have a fictional fighter database so that we can have fictional fighters & such? I would also like to see this sim take a step into the right direction concerning mods. Make it easily moddable so that utilities, face packs, ect. can be implemented easily.

No, it won't have a controlled career mode like in OOTP, FOF, etc.

It doesn't come with fictional fighters, but many people on this board have created a lot of fictional fighters that can be imported.

There are already a lot face pictures that can be used. There are a ton on this board and at cornerwork.com. All you do is copy the face pics into the pictures directory and you're all set.

I would rather have a career mode. The engine is solid, but this game is lacking in the career area. No purchase till that mode is in.

It just isn't fun to play. Tried the demo, couldn't stand it, and didn't buy.

A career-mode/RP-mode is a must before I actually purchase.

If you have no imagination then you won't like it. To call it garbage is insulting, haven't known you to be that way before, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. It is really the only game I play. Once I got into it OOTP and all my other text sim games went by the wayside. I just started OOTP again thanks to the next upgrade, but TPB and TPF aren't even on my computer anymore.

I'm sure the makers of TBCB are aware that there is a customer base that will not buy a sim without a career mode. Coming here and trashing the game because it doesn't have it is not necessary.
