Player signed as FA but never released...
I'm playing 6.5 if that makes a difference.
I just simmed in my season for a bit and then I noticed a really good player had switched teams so I went to see if it had been a trade or what not and there was nothing. Somehow he went from being on the Padres, never released, and then was signed by the White Sox.... This is copied right out of his player file: Signed as a free agent by San Diego on 1/31/2018 to a 4-year deal worth $10,760,000 per year... Won World Series with San Diego in 2018... Won Pitcher of the Month award on 5/1/2020, going 5-1, 0.62... Was selected to the 2020 Allstar game... Signed as a free agent by Chicago (A) on 7/18/2020 to a 1-year deal worth $3,896,000 per year... 8/1/2020: Signed a contract extension with Chicago (A), $9,500,000 per year, for 4 years. The All-Star game was a few days before he signed with the White Sox so maybe they had something to do with it? Any ever seen something like this? Thanks... |

I believe that if during the all-star game if you look at the player card then he gets released or something like that. I've not had it happen just have heard that some have had something like this take place.

Players like Reggie Sanders/Larry Walker and Mark G.are being put on Waviers/Chris Carpenter going to Triple-A and Jason Pearson becoming the Closer at the start of the season and they shouldn't be the Cardinals wouldn't do it in real life but the good thing is that the replacements are doing good and Cardinals have the best record in my league!

Great Players Being Released After All Star Game with 6.5
For the last two seasons I have played 6.5a. Two days after the All- star break in each season, one player in one season, two players in the next have been released; obviously they are picked up by a free agent by another team at a reduced salary. This has happened with the same player twice.
This is a DEFINITE BUG with 6.5. Players are released without any trades and it occurs several days after the ALL-Star Game. I am sick of this. Also if you go into the transactions list of the teams that supposedly released them, there IS NO evidence that the teams have released them as a free agent. In other the teams are not releasing them, but the AI component of 6.5 supposedly is taking the playwr from those teams without trades and giving them to another team Last edited by asado; 07-09-2005 at 09:43 PM. |
